12、 dimensions and tolerances for reduction sleeves with tapped ends for Morse taper shanks of sizes1 to6 and turret sockets of sizes1 to5. 2 Reduction sleeves with tapped ends 2.1 General dimensions and tolerances 2.1.1 The general dimensions of reduction sleeves shall be in accordance withTable 1. 2.
13、1.2 The dimensions and tolerances for the internaltaper shall be identical with those given inBS1660-1 for the appropriate Morse taper. 2.1.3 The dimensions and tolerances for the external taper shall be identical with those given in BS1660-1 for the appropriate Morse taper, except for dimensions a
14、1and l 2(seeFigure 1) which are greater in all cases except for three reduction sleeves for size6 Morse tapers, than the corresponding dimensions a and l 2of BS1660-1. 2.2 Tolerance on concentricity The tolerance on the concentricity of the axis of the bore with the external taper shall be0.025mm FI
15、M for precision ground items. For fine machined items the tolerance shall be0.050mm FIM. 2.3 Designation A reduction sleeve shall be designated by its external Morse taper and internal Morse taper, in that order. Example. The designation of a reduction sleeve with external Morse taper4 and internal
16、Morse taper2 is as follows: M.T.4 2 3 Turret sockets 3.1 General dimensions and tolerances 3.1.1 The general dimensions of turret sockets shall be in accordance withTable 2. 3.1.2 The dimensions and tolerances for the internaltaper shall be identical with those given inBS1660-1 for the appropriate M
17、orse taper. 3.1.3 The dimensions and tolerances for the external diameter shall be in accordance with Table 2. The length of turret socket shall be as shown inTable 2. 3.2 Tolerance on concentricity The tolerance on the concentricity of the axis of the bore with the external diameter shall be0.025mm
