Scope This standard specifies standard atmospheres for conditioning and testing textile glass reinforced plastics. Special atmospheres applicable t
13、o a particular test or simulating a particular climatic environment are not included. 2. Definition Conditioning, for the purposes of this standard, means exposure of textile glass reinforced plastics to the influence of a prescribed atmosphere for a stipulated period of time. In this sense, the pri
14、ncipal aim of conditioning is to improve the reproducibility of test results. 3. Standard atmosphere The standard test atmosphere is defined below: 3.1 For use when control of temperature and humidity is necessary: 23C, 50 % relative humidity 3.2 For use when only control of temperature is necessary
15、: 23C, ambient humidity 4. Tolerances 4.1 Temperature. The normal tolerance for temperature is 2C. If a closer tolerance is required, it shall be 1C. EN 62 Page 3 4.2 Relative humidity. The normal tolerance for relative humidity is 5 % r.h. If a closer tolerance is required, it shall be 2 % r.h. 5.
16、Conditioning 5.1 When the atmosphere specified in 3.1 is used, the standard time for conditioning is a period of at least 88 hours. 5.2 When the atmosphere specified in 3.2 is used, the standard time for conditioning is a period of 4 hours. 5.3 In the case of particular materials and test specimens
17、which are known to reach temperature and moisture equilibrium rapidly or slowly, and where the times specified in 5.1 or 5.2 are not suitable, a shorter or a longer time may be prescribed in the specifications or test methods concerned. 5.4 The plastics materials should be placed in the conditioning

Test atmosphere Unles5 otherwise specified, the specimens shall be tested in the same atmosphere in which they have been conditioned. NOTE.
