It is a part r
8、evision of BS3682:1969 which is renumbered as BS3682-2 and declared obsolescent. This British Standard covers hoses normally used on traction units and rolling stock, e.g.inter-vehicle connections, complete vehicle air systems, body bogie connections, or as otherwise specified by the end user. The19
9、69 edition of BS3682 specified for coupling hoses only. This standard covers compressed air hose. The1969 edition of BS3682 specified requirements for both compressed air brake hose and vacuum brake hose. The requirements for vacuum brake hose are included in BS3682-2. Changes to requirements for co
10、mpressed air hose from the previous edition include the following: a) addition of construction requirements regarding end capping; b) clarification of the test for ozone cracking; c) addition of a hose assembly integrity test; d) reduction in the permitted angle of rotation under a hydrostatic press
11、ure test; e) marking of hose to reflect current practice; f) incorporation of a test to confirm suitable oil resistance of the liner; g) incorporation of hose assembly integrity tests. There is an awareness that there are user requirements to develop hoses with markedly reduced flammability and toxi

Proposals also exist in EEC legislation which may in the future affect the standing of this standard and possibly other standards used in railway systems. 15、tems of railway traction units and rolling stock. Hose for use in compressed air systems is operated at pressures up to a maximum of11.5 bar 1)and within the temperature range25C to+65C. 2 Normative references This Part of BS3682 incorporates, by dated or undated reference, provisions from other pub

For dated references, only the edition cited applies; any subsequent amendments to or revisions of the cited publication apply to this Part of BS3682 only w
17、hen incorporated in the reference by amendment or revision. For undated references, the latest edition of the cited publication applies, together with any amendments. 3 Construction The hose shall consist of: a) a seamless rubber lining; b) a textile reinforcement; c) a rubber cover resistant to abr
18、asion, outdoor exposure and affording durability within the railway environment. Both the lining and the cover shall be uniform, free from air holes, porosity and other defects. The hose shall be reasonably concentric. For hose up to and including22.0mm(7/8in) bore, the wall thickness in any cross s
19、ection shall vary not morethan0.8mm(1/32in) and for hose above22.0mm (7/8in) not more than1.2mm(3/64in). The thickness of the lining for hose of12.5mm(1/2in) bore shall be not less than2.4mm(3/32in) and for hose above12.5mm(1/2in) not less than3.2mm (1/8in). The reinforcement shall be free of any kn
20、otted strands and shall be well impregnated with a suitable rubber. The thickness of the outer cover shall be not less than1.6mm(1/16in) at any point. The cover shall not be corrugated and shall be free from abrasive particles or ingredients. NOTEThe cover may have a shallow cloth marked finish. The
21、 textile reinforcement shall comprise synthetic fibres which are not adversely affected by exposure to the elements in normal use, and thus sealing of exposed ends of the hose when cut to length may be omitted. 4 Dimensions The bore and outside diameter of the hose shall be in accordance with Table
22、1. The length shall be as specified by the purchaser subject to the following tolerances: length up to and including2.0m (78.74in): 5.0mm ( 3/16in); length over2.0 m:1%of specified length. 5 Properties 5.1 Tensile strength When tested in accordance with BS903-A2, the lining shall have a tensile stre

The samples, when tested as described in5.1, shall show results which do not vary by more than20%from th

The speed of application of loa

Under this condition the various layers shall show no signs of separation and neither the lining nor the cover shall crack. 5.5 Pressure testing A finished length of hose shall not develop any crack or defect when subjected to a hydrostatic pressure of14bar for10min. The
30、required pressure shall bereached at a rate of1.75bar per second to3.5barper second. The hose shall not expand in circumference by more than10%of its initial circumference. While under the above pressure, the length when measured between two reference marks clear of the end fittings shall not vary b

The bursting pressure shall be not less than50bar. After testing the length of hose shall be destroyed. 5.
32、6 Ozone cracking A sample of the hose cover shall be subjected to20% elongation and held for70h at50C in an atmosphere containing50parts of ozone per100million parts of air as described in BS903-A43. After the test, when the specimens are viewed under magnification 10, no cracks shall be visible. Pr
33、ior to commencement of the test the hose cover sample shall be viewed under10 magnification so that subsequent comparison after testing will confirm that any marks on the surface have resulted from the exposure of the sample to ozone, and were not present prior to commencement of the test. 5.7 Resis

35、dius, given in Table 2, the amount of flattening shall not exceed12%of the nominal outside diameter and the hose shall not kink or show any surface defect. The test shall be carried out at room temperature and, if necessary, handles shall be inserted in the ends of the test piece. Table 2 Mandrels f
