7、 the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It differs from the International Standard in specifying material that complies with BS4577 rather than ISO5182. The requirements for the softening temperature in BS4577 are generally more stringent than those in ISO5182. BS4215 is being rev
8、ised in several Parts and supersedes BS4215:1967, which has been withdrawn. Most of the Parts of BS4215 are or will be identical with or based on International Standards but, in instances where the United Kingdom was or is unable to give a vote of approval to the International Standard, a correspond
9、ing British Standard has been or will be prepared, where possible, taking into account the reasons for disapproval. A further Part will also be published in due course, specifying electrodes, electrode holders and ancillary equipment of interest in the UK only. The following Parts of BS4215 have bee

13、some terminology and certain conventions are not identical with those used in British Standards. The Technical Committee has reviewed the provisions of ISO1642 for which there is no equivalent British Standard, and has decided that they are acceptable for use in conjunction with this Part of BS4215.

16、1 1 Scope This Part of BS4215 specifies the requirements for insulated pins used to pin parts in the secondary circuit of resistance welding equipment, or other live equipment, which need to be insulated from each other. NOTEA typical application of insulated pins complying with BS4215-15 is given i
17、n BS EN25827:1992. 2 References The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover. 3 Dimensions The dimensions of the insulated pins shall be as shown in Figure 1 and as given in Table 1. Details left unspecified shall be designed as appropriate. Table 1
18、 4 Designation The designation of insulated pins which comply with BS4215-15 shall comprise the following information in the order given: a) a description block (i.e.“insulated pin”); b) a reference to BS4215-15; c) the pin diameter, d, in millimetres. EXAMPLE An insulated pin with a diameter d=8mm
19、is designated Insulated pin BS4215/158 5 Material The material shall be hard fabric, coarse weave PFCC1, in accordance with ISO1642. 6 Finish Permissible deviations for dimensions without tolerance indications shall be: medium BS4500-3.
