WARNING NOTE 2 The use of gaseous nitrogen is preferred excepting warning note 1, but, if this is not practicable, oxygen or air (in this order) may be used: ensu

If air is used directly from a compressor, filtration shall be provided to remove oil, water and/or other contaminants so that the air conforms to the requirements of the standard referenced in 3.4. Oxygen shall be used for type approval tes

WARNING NOTE 3 If testing is carried out using other than gaseous oxygen, the item of equipment or system should be purged with gaseous oxygen, after the test, taking care to ensure that the equipme

Up to 25 10 p6v/v of an approved detergent, conforming to BS N 100-2, may be added to reduce the surface tension and hence aid the removal of the wat

Ethanol, Iso-propyl alcohol or trichloroethylene may be used but care should be taken to avoid material incompatibility if elastomers or other non-metals are wetted during the test. 4.2 After the test, thoroughly dry the parts of the system and ensure that they are free from any c

Above 15 C, a higher water content may be acceptable, but be aware of the temperature drop effect caused as air flows from higher pressure to a lower pressure. BS 4N 100-3:1999 BSI 1 March 2004 3

32、5 Leakage tests The oxygen equipment and/or pipe connections shall be tested for leakage using any of the following: a) a solution of de-ionized/demineralized water with an approved detergent wetting agent, conforming to BS N 100-2; b) a pressure drop method; c) by collection of leakage gas in an en
