、0-2.11.2:1980 ii BSI 10-1999 Foreword This standard makes reference to the following British Standards: BS 5550-2.9.1, Dimensions of spools for16mm motion-picture projectors (up to and including120m capacity:18cm size). BS 5550-2.9.2, Spools for16mm motion-picture projectors (from244m to610m capacit

BS 5550-2.11.1, Dimensions of spindles for16mm motion-picture camera and projector spools. This British Standard has been prepared under the direction of the Cinematograph Standards Committee.
、 It is a revision of BS4629 which provided for two grades of spindles. The first, a normal grade, was appropriate for equipment such as projectors, editors and rewinders designed for spool capacities up to and including120m. This grade is now specified in BS5550-2.11.1. The second, a precision grade
、, the subject of this standard, is appropriate for high grade projectors and editors (which normally have a spool capacity greater than120m), laboratory processing equipment, telecine machines, and professional equipment generally. All British Standards on cinematography are eventually to become Sec
、tions or Subsections of BS5550. Accordingly this revision is renumbered as BS5550-2.11.2. BSI Sectional List1, obtainable free from BSI Sales Department, catalogues the British Standards on cinematography. The latest edition of SL1 should be referred to particularly in view of this development. A Br
