BSI 1997 1 BS 6571 : Part 7 : 1997 Specification 1 Scope 1.1 This British Standard specifies the requir

17、ements for the design, physical dimensions, quality of materials and functional performance of: a) parking discs to control time limited parking without payment (Type A discs); b) parking discs to control time limited vehicle loading/unloading (Type B discs); c) parking discs to control time limited

18、 parking in association with a permit issued to a vehicle (Type C discs); d) parking discs for use in connection with exemptions for disabled persons from certain requirements of parking or traffic regulation orders (Type D discs). 1.2 It does not specify the conditions of use of any type of parking

19、 disc. For conditions of use, reference should be made to the relevant Statutory Regulations and/or Traffic Regulation Orders or Parking Orders made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and/or any related or subsequent amending legislation. 2 References 2.1 Normative references This Part of BS

Editions of these publications current at the time of issue of this standard are listed on the inside back cover, but reference should be made to the latest editions. 3 Dimensions Parking discs and indicating wheels shall be designed an

23、d manufactured in accordance with the dimensions set out in figures 1, 2, 3 and 4. 4 Materials 4.1 The cover shall be folding box board of thickness 0.5 mm to 1.0 mm or other material of equivalent mechanical strength. 4.2 The indicating wheel shall be folding box board of thickness 0.5 mm to 1.0 mm

24、 or other material of equivalent mechanical strength. 4.3 A clear print varnish shall be applied to the outside surface of the cover and to the front and rear faces of the indicating wheel if constructed of folding box board. Where other materials are used, a comparable surface finish shall be provi

25、ded. 4.4 The device securing the indicating wheel inside the cover shall be a brass rivet or a similar fixing of equivalent mechanical strength. 4.5 Inks used for the colouring and printing of the disc cover and the indicating wheel shall conform with at least light fastness standard 6 of BS 4321 us

26、ing test method 2 or test method 2A. NOTE. It is recommended that an ink of comparable colour fastness is used to endorse parking discs. 5 Assembly After assembly of the cover, indicating wheel and pivot rivet, the outer corners of the open edges of the cover shall be glued or fixed together to prev

27、ent the cover opening outwards. The indicating wheel shall then be capable of being rotated freely. 6 Design, printing and colours 6.1 Type A discs The cover shall be of the dimensions and outline design shown in figure 1, and of the detailed design shown in figure 5. The indicating wheel shall be o

28、f the design shown in figure 3, and shall have black characters and indications printed on a white background. NOTE. The lower portions of the front and rear faces of the cover to the disc may be used for advertising road safety or similar advice, to specify any local conditions of use, to provide a

29、 map showing disc parking places and/or to identify the issuing authority. 6.2 Type B discs The cover shall be of the dimensions and outline design shown in figure 1, and of the detailed design shown in figure 6. The indicating wheel shall be of the design shown in figure 3. The indicating wheel sha

30、ll have black characters and indications printed on either a white background or a background of the same colour as the cover.2 BSI 1997 BS 6571 : Part 7 : 1997 6.3 Type C discs The cover shall be of the dimensions and outline design shown in figure 2, and of the detailed design shown in figure 7. 31、he indicating wheel shall be of the design shown in figure 4, and shall have black characters and indications printed on either a white background or a background of the same colour as the cover. The cover may be any colour except BS 381C 557 (light orange), which is reserved for Type D discs. 6.4 T

32、ype D discs The cover shall be of the dimensions and outline design shown in figure 1, and of the detailed design shown in figure 8. The indicating wheel shall be of the design shown in figure 3. The indicating wheel shall have black characters and indications, printed on a background of BS 381C 557

33、 (light orange). 7 Marking The disc shall be marked in the locations shown in figures 6, 7 and 8 with the printers name.
