This British Standard implements Harmonization Document HD483.10 S1, published
、by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). This British Standard supersedes BS5428-9:1981 which is withdrawn. The purpose of this Part of BS6840 is to standardize the characteristics to be specified, the relevant methods of measurement and performance requirements (in
、some cases) for: peak programme level meters, in general (section3); peak programme level meters, type I (section4); peak programme level meters, type II (section5); peak programme level meters having incremental displays (section6); peak programme level meters having incremental displays, for secon
、dary and household applications (section7). In general, the methods of measurement recommended are those which are directly related to the definitions. This does not exclude the use of other methods which can be shown to give equivalent results. BS6840 consists of the following Parts: Part 1: Method
、s for specifying and measuring general characteristics used for equipment performance (supersedes part of BS5428-1); Part 2: Glossary of general terms and calculation methods (supersedes part of BS5428-1); Part 3: Methods for specifying and measuring the characteristics of sound system amplifiers (s
