28、rrigidplasticcylinderwithaninternaldiameterof (35,00,1)mmandanoutsidediameterof(41,00,1)mm.Thecylindershallbeinsertedinto,orbeanintegral partofasteelbase.Theocularshallbecushionedbyasiliconeseatingringfirmlyattachedtothetopofthetube. Thisseatingringshallbemadeofsiliconerubberof(405)I.R.H.Dandshallha

29、veaninsidediameterof (35,00,4)mandcrosssectionsof3mmx3mmnominaldimensions. Thecombinedmassofthesupportshallbeatleast12kg. Aloadringofmass(2505)gisplacedontheocular.Theringhasaninsidediameterthesameasthatofthe supporttube,andanyconvenientoutsidediameter.Asiliconeseatingringhavingthesamedimensionsand

30、hardnessastheoneattachedtothetopofthesupporttubeisplacedbetweentheloadringandtheocular.Apiece ofcarbonpaperonapieceofwhitepaperisplacedatthebaseofthe1,5mmdeepcavityintheocularsupport (seeFigure1). Forcurvedocularswithacylindricalcomponent,thetestsupporttubeandloadringshallbecurvedtoconformto theconc

31、aveandconvexsurfacesoftheocularrespectively,andthedimensionsof3mmand4,5mmshallapplyto thedeepestpointofthecircularsupport.(SeeFigure1). Iftheocularisofinsufficientdimensionstoenableitsentireperipherytobeadequatelysupported,suitableadaptor sleevesshallbeused.EN168:2001(E) 6 3.1.2Procedure Centrethein

32、tendedpointsofimpactoftheocularonthesupporttube.Adjusttheapparatussothata22mm nominaldiametersteelballof43gminimummassfallingfrom( 0 03 , 0 3 , 1 )mstrikestheocularwithina5mmradius fromthecentreofthesupporttube.Thisheightwillprovideanimpactspeedofapproximately5,1m/s. Impactsshallbedirectedatthevisua

33、lcentre(s)oftheoculars.Forunmountedocularscoveringoneeyeandfor whichthevisualcentrecannotbeestablished,thenthegeometriccentreshallbeused. NOTE VisualcentreisasdefinedinEN166. Theimpactsarecarriedoutinthefollowingconditions: a) withtheocularheatedto(552)Candmaintainedatthistemperatureforatleast1h; b)

34、 withtheocularcooledtoatemperatureof(52) Candmaintainedatthistemperatureforatleast1h. Newocularsshallbeusedforeachindividualimpactandforeachtemperaturecondition.Theimpactshallbe appliedwithin30softemperatureconditioning. Thetestshallbecarriedoutat(235)C. Iftheframeonlyistobeassessedthenocularsmee

37、tingtherequirementsof3.1(increasedrobustness)shallbe fittedtotheframe. Asheetofcarbonpaperontopofasheetofwhitepaperisattachedtotheheadformbehindtheeyeprotector. Theheadformandeyeprotectorassemblyispositionedinthetestapparatus. Theballisprojectedatthepointsofimpactdefinedin3.2.3. Forspectacleswithnol

38、ateralprotectiontheballshallstrikethesidearmwithintheprescribedlateralprotectionarea onaverticalplanethroughtheimpactcentre.(See3.2.3). Theimpactsarecarriedoutinthefollowingconditions: a) withtheeyeprotectorheatedto(552)Candmaintainedatthistemperatureforatleast1h; b) withtheeyeprotectorcooledtoatemp

Neweyeprotectorsshallbeusedforeachindividualpointofimpactandforeachtemperaturecondition.The impactshallbeappliedwithin30softemperatureconditioning. Forfrontalimpactsatthetwoeyecentrestheballisprojectednormaltotheverticalaxisoftheheadformand paralleltoitsopticalaxisalongeac
