25、Methods Anumberofmethodsmaybeusedtomeasureinsertionloss.However,theprincipleisbasicallythesamefor eachmethod. First,theamountofusefulopticalpowerwhichcanbetransmittedthroughthecableshallbemeasured withoutthespecimensinstalled.Then,thespecimenshallbeinsertedintothecableandtheamountofuseful powershall
26、bemeasuredagain.Theinsertionlossshallbedefinedasthedecreaseintheamountof transmittedopticalpowerandshallbeexpressedasaratioindecibels(dB). ThelaunchconditionsshallbedefinedinEN2591100. 5.1 Method1 Itshallbelimitedtoasinglemeasurement.Itshallinvolvemakingtheinitialpowermeasurementina continuous(unbro
