8、ation for textile wallcoverings”, published by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). EN266 was produced as a result of international discussions in which the United Kingdom took an active part. EN 266 is one of a series of European Standards for wallcoverings in roll form which were prev
9、iously implemented in the UK by the resurrection of BS1248. BS1248 was originally published in1945 under the title “Wallpapers”, was revised in1954 and was subsequently withdrawn in1979. BS 1248 has now been published in Parts as follows. Part1: Terms and symbols (implementing EN235); Part2: Specifi
10、cation for finished wallcoverings (implementing EN233); Part3: Specification for wallcoverings for subsequent decoration (implementing EN234). EN 266 was originally intended to form Part5 of BS1248 but is now published under the BSEN series in order to make clear its European status. A British Stand

19、s for wallcoverings in roll form. The IGI submitted first draft proposals for a vocabulary, and for specifications for wallcoverings for subsequent decoration and for finished wallpapers, wall vinyls and plastics wallcoverings. During its first meeting in1980, TC99 decided to undertake additional wo
20、rk concerning textile wallcoverings, for which a WG1 was created, and heavy duty wallcoverings, for which a WG2 was created. A first proposal for the specification for textile products was put forward by WG1 for consideration by TC99 at its fifth meeting in Manchester(1985) and developed at a subseq
21、uent meeting in Brussels(1988). 24、BSI 11-1999 3 0 Introduction A textile wallcovering is a wallcovering, the front face of which consists of natural or synthetic fibrous or filament materials such as yarns, woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, threads, ropes, braids, felts, etc., which may be attached to a base web. A textile wallcoverin
25、g should have adequate strength such that it may be hung satisfactorily in accordance with the instructions given by the supplier and using the recommended adhesive. There are many types of wallcovering and varied processes used in their manufacture. To ensure satisfactory performance, it is importa
26、nt that decorators follow the manufacturers recommended hanging instructions for each particular product. Various grades of colour fastness to light of textile wallcoverings are recognized and symbols to indicate these grades are given in this standard, as well as symbols to indicate pattern matchin
27、g, means of application and methods of subsequent removal from the support. This will facilitate the selection by the user of wallcoverings appropriate to his particular needs and guide the decorator. 28、ished wallpapers, wall vinyls and plastics wallcoverings, for wallcoverings for subsequent decoration and for heavy duty wallcoverings are also published. 1 Object and field of application This European Standard: specifies requirements for dimensions, adhesion of yarns and grades of colour fastness
29、to light gives the symbols, to be used for marking purposes, for some of these characteristics and also for matching, methods of application and removal specifies requirements for marking gives the designation system The marking requirements of this standard are primarily for information of the cons
30、umer and to enable optimum use to be made of the product. This standard applies to textile wallcoverings supplied in rolls for hanging on to walls and ceilings by means of an adhesive covering the whole of the interface between the wallcovering and the support. It does not apply to individual length
31、s of textile wallcovering cut at the retail point of sale. Excluded from this standard are rigid materials, materials not attached or not wholly attached by adhesive, and non-decorative wallcoverings such as wall linings or those with special properties, e.g.thermal or acoustic insulation. Also excl

34、. 4 Dimensions 4.1 General The area of the roll is not standardized but shall be declared; the permitted deviation from the declared value shall be not more than 3%. The nominal width, or the useable width for untrimmed wallcoverings, and the nominal length shall be declared; the permitted deviation
35、 from the declared values shall be not more than 1,5%. 4.2 Method of measuring dimensions Dimensions shall be measured in accordance withAnnex B. 5 Adhesion of attached yarns For a wallcovering with warp- or weft-laid yarns to comply with this standard it shall possess good adhesion of the attached
36、yarns. Accordingly the wallcovering, when tested in accordance withAnnex C for adhesion of yarns, shall exhibit no visible removal of, or damage to, yarns attached to its front surface. 6 Cleanability There are no specific requirements for the spongeability or washability of a textile wallcovering.E

38、zed: satisfactory: numerical rating not less than4; very good: numerical rating not less than6. 7.2 The numerical rating for colour fastness to light shall be determined in accordance withAnnex D of EN233:1989. A wallcovering to this standard shall not have a rating of less than4. 7.3 The symbols to
39、 be used for indicating the grade of colour fastness to light are given inTable 1, serials3.2 and3.4. 8 Matching, application, removal and miscellaneous symbols 8.1 The symbols to be used for indicating pattern matching are given inTable 1, serials4.1 to4.4. 8.2 The symbols to be used for indicating

41、arking 9.1 Visible markings When compliance with this standard is claimed, the roll, outer wrapper or a separate label inside the wrapper of a roll of wallcovering shall state the special characteristics of the wallcovering in such a way that the following information is readily visible to the purch
42、aser without removing any outer wrapper from an individual roll. a) The number of this European Standard, i.e.EN266 1) . b) Name or identification mark of manufacturer, supplier, or distributor. c) Product description, i.e.“Textile wallcovering” with the composition of textile fibres given as a perc
43、entage of the total textile contents, and, where appropriate, terms fromEN235:1989. d) Identification of the product, i.e.pattern number, batch number. e) The width, length and area of the roll. f) The grade of colour fastness to light, i.e.whether satisfactory or very good, using the appropriate sy
44、mbol from category3 ofTable 1. g) The means of application, using the appropriate symbol(s) from category5 ofTable 1. h) The need to reverse alternate lengths, if this is an essential requirement for satisfactory appearance, using the symbol4.4 from category4 ofTable 1. j) Type of adhesive to be use

47、ehaviour If any claim is made concerning fire behaviour, then the testing procedure used to determine this, and the classification achieved, shall be given. 9.4 Marking as heavy duty If any claim concerning heavy duty performance is made, then the requirements of EN259 shall be complied with in addi
48、tion to those given in this standard. 9.5 Consistency of marking The information given in promotional literature, in the pattern book, marked on the pattern slip and marked on cartons shall be consistent with the information given with the roll as defined in9.1 to9.4. 10 Designation If a designation
