、:2001 BSI 06-2001 Annex A (informative) Finishing A.1 Surface finish A.1.1 General Tensional steel strapping is available in a choice of surface finishes according to the requirements of the given application. NOTE Users are advised to check with the suppliers that the finish required can be supplie
、d for the type, size and quality of strapping they are ordering. A.1.2 Bright The natural surface of uncoated steel in a cold rolled condition. The surface can be non-lubricated or lightly oiled. A.1.3 Blued and waxed The blue finish is imparted by heat which also cleans the surface. The wax coating
、 is applied to improve tensioning ability. A.1.4 Painted and waxed Various coatings are used to provide a degree of resistance to corrosion or chemical reaction between the strapping and the surface of the goods being strapped. A.1.5 Electro zinc galvanized A zinc coating applied by electrodepositio
、n which provides a degree of corrosion resistance. A.2 Corrosion test If required, a salt spray corrosion test may be carried out in accordance with ISO 9227.Page 11 EN 13246:2001 BSI 06-2001 Annex B (informative) Bend test B.1 Bend test B.1.1 A test specimen from a sample length of strapping is fas

B.1.2 The free end of the strapping sample is bent through 90, in opposite directions, over the rounded edge of the supports (See Figure B.1). B.1.3 One bend shall consist of a 90 bend in one direction and return to
、the original position. B.1.4 Make successive bends in opposite directions. B.1.5 Disregard cracking or flaking of any coating during testing. B.1.6 The number of bends when failure by cracking occurs is recorded. Table B.1 gives the minimum number of bends to failure. Key 1 2 bends 2 1 bend Figure B
