Theapparatusshallbedesignedsoasnottoin
39、terferewithworkactivitieswhencarriedoutinaccordancewiththe manufacturersinstruction. Theapparatusshallbesodesignedthattherearenoprotrudingpartsorsharpedgeslikelytobecaughton projectionsinnarrowpassages. Thesurfaceofanypartoftheapparatuslikelytobeincontactwiththewearershallbefreefromsharpedgesand bur
40、rs. Theapparatusshallbesodesignedandconstructedastopreventingressofexternalatmospherewithinthelimits setoutinthisEuropeanStandard. Theapparatusshallbesodesignedthattheoutsideofthecontainercanbecleanedeasily. Theapparatusshallbesodesignedastopreventthechemicalfromenteringthewearersrespiratorytractand
41、that salivaorcondensateshallnotinterferewiththefunctionoftheapparatusorcauseanyharmfuleffecttothewearer. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3and7.16. Itshallnotbepossibletoinitiateaquickstartsystem(iffitted)inadvertently. Apparatusforspecialuse,i.e.inminingshallmeettherequirementsgiveninannexAwhent
42、estedinaccordance withannexA. ApparatusfortrainingpurposesonlyshallmeettherequirementsgiveninannexCwhentestedinaccordancewith annexC.Trainingmayalsobecarriedoutwiththeworkingapparatus. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3. 6.3Materials Thecarryingcontainerandthelockingdevice(wherepresent)shallbeade
43、quatelyprotectedagainstcorrosion.The materialsusedshallbeabletowithstandtemperaturesandmechanicalstresstobeexpectedwhilstbeingcarried onthepersonaswellasbeingstoredonmachinesandvehicles. Testingshallbedoneinaccordancewith7.3,7.9.1and7.16. Exposedparts,i.e.thosewhichmaybesubjectedtoimpactduringuseoft
44、heapparatusshallnotbemadeof aluminium,magnesium,titaniumoralloyscontainingsuchproportionsofthesemetalsaswill,onimpact,giverise tofrictionalsparkscapableofignitingflammablegasmixtures.
