5、d Al 3 : 1997 and Corrigendum January 1999, published by the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It was derived from IEC 596-2-7 : 1982, edition 1, including Amendments 1 : 1987 and 2 : 1994, published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The British
6、 Standard supersedes 8s 4533 : Section 102.7 : 1984, which is withdrawn. II The CENELEC Common Modifications have been implemented at the appropriate places in the text of IEC Publication 598-2-7 (1982) edition 1, into which Amendments 1 and 2 have been incorporated, and are indicated by a side line

Users of this British Standard are advised to consider the desirability of third party certification of product conformity with this British Standard based on testing and continuing surveillance, which may be coupled with assessment of a su
11、ppliers quality systems against the appropriate Part of BS 5750. Enquiries as to the availability of third party certification schemes will be forwarded by BSI to the Association of Certification Bodies. If a third party certification scheme does not already exists, users should consider approaching
12、 an appropriate body from the lia of Association members. The foreword of Amendment Al 2 to the EN makes reference to the date of withdrawal (dow) of conflicting national standards as 1995-10-01. In this case, the relevant national standard is BS EN 60598-2-7 but the date of withdrawal relates only
13、to those parts of the British Standard subject to Amendment No. 2. Certificates and marks will not be awarded after this date with respect to the British Standard not incorporating Amendment No. 2. They will be awarded only to the amended British Standard. However, such certificates and marks alread
14、y awarded with respect to the British Standard not incorporating Amendment No. 2 may continue to apply for production until 2000-10-01. Analogous provisions obtain in respect of Amendment No. 3, for which the dow is 1997-03-01 and the expiry date for current approvals is 2002-03-01. A British Standa

I 7.2 7.3 7.4 This section of Part 2 of I EC Publication 598 specifies requirements for portable pedestal lumi- naires for use in places such as gardens and for portable luminaires
28、 for use in places such as flower beds, for use with tungsten filament, tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 250 V. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part 1 to which reference is made. General test requirements The provisions of Section
29、Zero of I EC Publication 598-1 : Luminaires, Part 1 : General Require- ments and Tests, apply. The tests described in each appropriate section of Part 1 shall be mmed out in the order listed in this section of Part 2. Definitions For the purposes of this section, the definitions of Section One of Pu
30、blication 598-1 apply. Classification of luminaires Luminaires shall be classified in accordance with the provisions of Section Two of Publi- cation 598-1 together with the requirements of Subclauses 7.4.1 and 7.4.2. 7.4.1 According to the type of protection against electric shock, portable luminair
31、es for garden use shall 7.4.2 According to the degree of protection against dust and moisture, portable luminaires for garden be classified as Class I, Class II or Class III. use shall be classified as rain-proof, splash-proof, jet-proof or watertight. 75 Marking The provisions of Section Three of P
32、ublication 598-1 apply. 7.5.1 The maximum power calculated from the maximum current rating of the supply cable shall be marked in close proximity to the mains socket-outlet($ incorporated in the luminaire. 7.6 Construction The provisions of Section Four of Publication 598-1 apply, together with the
33、requirements of Sub-clauses 7.6.1 to 7.6.7. 7.6.1 Carriers and clips for flexible cords shall be of insulating material, or shall be provided with a fixed insulating lining if they are accessible or are in contact with accessible metal parts. Compliance shall be checked by inspection. 7.6.2 Portable
34、 luminaires shall have adequate stability. Compliance shall be checked by placing lhe luminaire in the most unfavourable position of normal use on a plane inclined at an angle of 15 to the horizontal, the plane being such that the luminaire does not slide. 36、s test. Means shall be provided so that the supply flexible cable or cord cannot be damaged in any possible normal position of use ofthe luminaire. The cable entry shall be so located or shielded that it is not likely to be adversely affected by dirt splashing up from the ground. 7.6.3 Compliance sh
37、all be checked by inspection and, if necessary, by an installation test. Nore. - As an example. this requirement may be met by means of a stop plate on a spike intended to be driven into the ground, the distance from the ground to the cable entry being at least 10 cm. 7.6.4 Clause 4.6 of Section Fou
38、r of Publication 598- 1 does not apply. 7.6.5 Portable luminaires for garden use shall not have more than two cable entries. Compliance shall be checked by inspection. 7.6.6 e connection between the socket-outlet for providing power to other luminaires and the associated plug shall be in accordance
39、with at least the same degree of protection as the luminaires but not less than IPX3. This degree of protection shall be maintained with or without plug. Mains socket-outlets mounted on Class II luminaires shall comply with IEC regional or national standards so as to allow connection only to these o
40、utlets of other Class I1 luminaires. Note. - it is the intention of the Standard to disallow the connection of equipment using standard plugs on Class II luminains as the earthing connection will bc lost when connecting Class i luminaires to an outlet on a Class II luminaire. Mains socket-outlets mo
41、unted on Class I luminaires shall allow connection only of Class I or Class II luminaires and shall conform to IEC, regional or national standards. Compliance is checked by inspection where necessary. 7.6.7 Lampholders and plugs shall be of material resistant to tracking. I Compliance shall be check

48、n Twelve of Publication 598-1 after the test(s) of Clause 9.2 but before rhe test(s) of Clause 9.3 of Section Nine of Aiblication 598-1 specified in Clause 7.13 of this Section of Publication 598-2. 7.13 Resistance to dust and moisture The provisions of Section Nine of Publication 598-1 apply togeth
49、er with the requirements of Sub-clause 7.13.1. For luminaires with an IP classification greater than IF20 the order of the tests specified in Section Wie of Fubiication 598-1 shall be as specified in Clause 7.12 of this Section of Publication 598-2. 7.13.1 Class II ponable luminaires for garden use shall be tested in the most unfavourable of the overturned positions likely to occur. 7.14 Insulation resistance and electric strength The provisions of Section Ten of Publication 598-1 apply. 7.15 Resistance to heat, fire and tracking The provisions
