The UK participation in its preparation was entrusted by Technical Committee GEL/15, Insulating materials, to Subcommittee GEL/15/3, Material specifications, which has the responsibility to: aid enquirers to understand the text; present to the responsible international

4、/European committee any enquiries on the interpretation, or proposals for change, and keep the UK interests informed; monitor related international and European developments and promulgate them in the UK. 5、etary. From 1 January 1997, all IEC publications have the number60000added to the old number. For instance, IEC27-1 has been renumbered as IEC60027-1. 19、) 1998-06-01EN61068-2:1997 BSI 04-2000 3 1 Scope This part of IEC1068 specifies requirements for tapes woven on shuttleless looms for continuous filament polyester fibres. This part gives methods of test to demonstrate compliance with the general requirements of Part1 and the specific requirements o

20、f Part3 of the standard. Other parts of IEC 1068 are: Part 1: Definitions, designation and general requirements; Part 3: Specifications for individual materials. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this par

21、t. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. ISO 5084:1977, Textiles Determination of thickness of woven and knitted fabrics (other than textile floor coverings). 3 Tests 3.1 Determination of

23、 number of warp ends The ends shall be counted across the full width ofthe tape under ordinary room conditions anddivided by the nominal width to obtain the ends/10mm of nominal width. 3.2 Determination of number of picks The picks shall be counted over not less than20mm length of tape under ordinar

24、y room conditions and the average value shall be calculated from not less than three individual tests made at three different places along the tape. NOTEIn most constructions, two threads equal one pick (seethe definition of “pick” in Part1). 3.3 Determination of thickness The thickness shall be det

25、ermined generally by the method given in ISO5084, modified as below: 3.3.1 Test pieces Take five rolls of tape selected at random. 3.3.2 Conditioning Condition the rolls in an atmosphere of relative humidity within the range 45% to75% and with a temperature between15 C and35 C and then measure the t

26、hickness under these conditions. 3.3.3 Test apparatus Use test apparatus as described in ISO5084. Pressure to be selected from ISO5084 to be the nearest to (100 10)kPa. 3.3.4 Test procedure Clean the surface of the reference plate and of the presser foot. Adjust the instrument to provide a pressure

27、of100kPa to200kPa. In all cases of dispute, a deadweight tester shall be used and the pressure shall be100kPa. Separate the parallel plates and place an uncreased part of the test piece without tension in contact with the reference plate. Reduce the distance between the reference plate and the press

28、er foot until contact is made gently with the tape and note the reading of the gauge as soon as the movement of the pointer has ceased and the reading is easily visible. On each of the five selected rolls make four measurements at random, one at each of the selvedges and two between the selvedges. 3

29、.3.5 Results For the five rolls there will be ten measurements at the selvedges and ten between the selvedges. The central values of the two sets of ten measurements are the thickness of the tape at the selvedges and between the selvedges, respectively. 3.4 Determination of width 3.4.1 Test pieces T

30、ake five rolls selected at random. 3.4.2 Test conditions Make the test under standard ambient conditions. 3.4.3 Procedure Unroll the tape and lay it flat on a smooth surface. Apply no more tension to the tape than is necessary to make it lie straight and flat. Measure the width of the tape by means

31、of a steel rule graduated in millimetres. Make two measurements at random on each of the five selected rolls. 3.4.4 Results Take the central value of the ten measurements at the width of the tape.EN61068-2:1997 4 BSI 04-2000 3.5 Determination of shrinkage 3.5.1 Test pieces From each of the five roll

32、s selected at random cut a test piece sufficiently long to be able to mark on it a distance of500mm. 3.5.2 Procedure Lay the test piece flat on a smooth surface. Apply no more tension to the tape than is necessary to make it lie straight and flat. Measure the marked length and width (when the shrink

33、age on width is required) to within 0,5mm. Make two measurements of each of the required dimensions on each of the five test pieces. Place the test pieces in an oven which is maintainedat155 5 C. The test pieces shall beloosely coiled to allow free circulation of air. After60min 10min at the155 C ex

34、posure, remove the test pieces and cool for 1h at15 C to35 C. Repeat the earlier measurements of length and width. 3.5.3 Results Take the central value of the ten measurements before and after heating and express the result as a percentage,i.e.: Report also the central value of the shrinkage in widt

35、h in millimetres. 3.6 Shrinkage under load (Under consideration.) 3.7 Determination of tensile strength 3.7.1 General The tensile strength shall be determined generally by the method given in ISO5081, modified as below: 3.7.2 Test pieces Take five test pieces of sufficient length to allow an unstret

36、ched length of200mm between the jaws of the testing machine. 3.7.3 Test temperature Make the test temperature between15 C and35 C at standard IEC conditions. 3.7.4 Test apparatus A constant rate of load (CRL) machine, a constant rate of traverse (CRT) machine or a constant rate of specimen extension

37、 (CRE) machine may be used. 3.7.5 Procedure Apply the load so that the time from the commencement of application of the load to the moment at which the specified minimum load is reached is 30s 5s and continue until the test piece breaks. If the test piece breaks unevenly, either in or at a jaw of th

38、e testing machine, discard the result and make a further test using another test piece. 3.7.6 Results Express the tensile strength as the central value of the five determinations in newtons per millimetre width and record the type of machine used. 3.8 Force developed when heated at150 C Test method

39、for determining the maximum force exerted by a shrinkable tape when heated to150 C 3.8.1 Test specimen Approximately150mm length of the tape. 3.8.2 Test apparatus Tensile tester with oven. 3.8.3 Procedure Fix the test piece in the tester in suitable jaws100mm apart. The jaws shall be in an oven. App

40、ly a load of nominally5% of the estimated breaking load. Raise the temperature in the oven from room temperature to155 C 5 C in10to15min.
