9、 EN61079 defines the conditions and methods of measurement of overall performance of receiver systems comprising an outdoor unit and a DBS tuner unit for the direct reception of satellite broadcast transmissions in the12GHz band. The channels are those defined by WARC BS-77 and RARC SAT-83 and the s
10、ystems are those defined in CCIR Recommendation650. Performance requirements are not specified. This Part of BS EN61079 is intended to be used in conjunction with BS5876:1980 and BS EN61079-1:1995 and BS EN61079-2:1995. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a

General 1.1 Scope This part of IEC1079 applies to the conditions and methods of measurement of overall performance of receiver systems comprising an outdoor unit and a DBS tuner unit for direct reception
30、of satellite broadcast transmissions in the12GHz band. The channels are those defined by WARC BS-77 and RARC SAT-83 and the systems those of CCIR Recommendation6501 1) . The specifications of the limit values of the various parameters of the receiver systems are outside the scope of this standard. A
31、lthough individual performance of an outdoor unit and a DBS tuner unit can be measured by the methods defined by parts1 and2 of IEC1079, measurements of overall performance of a receiver system consisting of an indoor unit and a DBS tuner unit are also necessary for individual receiver installations
32、. A decoder, for baseband and data signals may be included in the receiver. Methods of measurement of the decoder, however, are described in parts4 and5 of IEC1079. NOTEMeasurement items for overall performance are confined to those which cannot be obtained by the measurements of each individual uni
33、t or may be affected by the combination of the units in the receiver. 1.2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this part of IEC1079. General explanation of terms The following general definitions apply for the purpose of this standard. 2.1 Outdoor unit See part1,1.3. 2.2 DBS tuner unit See part2,1.3.1. Section 3. General notes on measurements 3.1 General conditions 3.1.1 Introduction
38、 Measurements shall be carried out in accordance with the following conditions to ensure consistent results. NOTEThe methods described here assume the use of the following transmission systems: Digital sub-carrier/NTSC, B-MAC, C-MAC/packet, D-MAC/packet and D2-MAC/packet. Information pertaining to t
39、hese systems may be found in the references listed in Annex A. 3.1.2 Set up of receiver An outdoor unit and a DBS tuner unit shall be connected together, using the cable specified by the manufacturer of the receiver. Its length shall be the maximum of the specified range. 3.1.3 Testing site Measurem
40、ents shall be carried out at a location that is not subject to external radio frequency interference. If interference cannot be avoided, the measurements shall be carried out in a screened room. 3.1.4 Environmental conditions Sections3,4 and5 of IEC107-1 shall be applied. 1) The figures in square br

The fluctuation of the power supply voltage and frequency during the tests shall not exceed 2% and harmonic com
42、ponents of the power supply shall not exceed5%. 3.1.6 Accuracy of measuring instruments Requirements for the accuracy of measurements are not included in this standard, because they depend only on the purpose for which the measurements are required. The accuracy of the measuring instruments used, if
43、 known, shall either be stated as a percentage or in decibels as appropriate. Alternatively the precision class may be quoted as stated in the relevant publications (under consideration). 3.1.7 Stabilization period Unless otherwise specified, measurements shall be started at the time that stabilizat
44、ion of the characteristics is obtained. 3.2 Video, audio and digital test signals See part2, clause2.2. 3.3 Radio-frequency input signals 3.3.1 Input signals The following radio-frequency input signals shall be used: a) unmodulated carrier signal; b) carrier signals modulated by the test signals for
45、 the system in use. Unless otherwise specified, the carrier frequencies shall be selected from the nominal frequencies of the satellite broadcast channels, as specified by the standards of the country or countries for which the equipment under test was designed. 3.3.2 Radio-frequency input arrangeme
46、nt Depending on the input facilities of the equipment under test, the radio-frequency input signal can be applied in the following way: a) direct signal input to the SHF converter by means of a waveguide or a coaxial cable; b) radiated signal input to the receiving antenna by means of a transmitting
47、 antenna. (For detail, see part1,2.2.4.) 3.3.3 Input signal level In the case of direct signal input to the SHF converter, the input signal level shall be expressed in terms of available power dB (mW) at the output of the signal generator, including its associated network. In the case of radiated si
48、gnal input, the input signal level shall be expressed in terms of power flux density dB (W/m 2 ) at the aperture plane of the receiving antenna. (For detail, see part1,2.2.5.) 3.3.4 Setting of input signal level Input signal levels shall be specified for unmodulated carriers, even when modulated car
49、riers are used. The level setting can be made with a spectrum analyser. 3.4 Reference signals 3.4.1 Reference video signal For the measurements of noise and interference, a composite sine-wave signal specified in2.2.1 of part2 shall be used. Its sine-wave frequency is set at the frequency (f o ) shown in Table 1. The frequency (f o ) corresponds to the0dB crossover frequency of the pre-emphasis network. 3.4.2 Reference audio signal a) Digital sub-carrier/NTSC system A1kHz sine-wave signal at a level corresponding to f
