Scope1.1This Standard specifies the method for determining the energy factor for oil-fired storage tank waterheaters. 1.2This Standard establishes minimum energy efficiency levels for oil-fired storage tank water heaters.1.3This Standard applies to oil-fired storage tank water

41、heaters with an input rating of 107 000 kJ/hr or30.5 kW (0.75 USGPH) or less and a manufacturers specified storage capacity of 190 L (50 US gal) orless.1.4The tests contained in the Standard are not intended to represent actual efficiencies realized in the field.Instead, these tests provide a standa

42、rdized method of comparing relative unit performance.1.5This Standard is written in SI units. The values in parentheses are for information only. The SI valueshave been calculated from the US Customary Units found in the US Code of Federal Regulations,Department of Energy publication, Title 10, Part

DefinitionsThe following definitions apply in this Standard:Calorific value (CV) the heat that would be released by completely burning the fuel to carbondioxide and water, condensing all the water to its liquid state at 25EC.Cut-in the time or temperature at which a wa

44、ter heater thermostat has acted to start the energy andfuel input to the burner to cause the heating action to commence.Cut-out the time or temperature at which a water heater thermostat has acted to stop the energyand fuel input to the burner.Design power rating the nominal power rating that a wate

45、r heater manufacturer assigns to theheat source of a particular design of water heater heating means, expressed in kilowatts (kW).Energy factor a measure of the overall efficiency of a water heater expressed as the ratio of theenergy supplied in heated water daily to the total daily energy consumpti

It is a combination of how much water is stored in the water heater and how quickly thewater heater can heat cold water to the desi

47、red temperature.Heat trap a device that can be integrally connected, or independently attached, to the hot- or cold-water pipe connections of a water heater such that the device will develop a thermal or mechanical sealto minimize the recirculation of water resulting from natural thermal convection

48、between the waterheater tank and its water supply pipes, and thereby reduce the heat loss to the environment from thehot water stored in the water heater.Oil-fired storage-type water heater a water heater that (a) uses oil as the energy source;(b) is designed to heat and store water at a thermostati
