7、adoption, with Canadian deviations, of the identically titled IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) Standard 60335-2-50 (third edition, 2000-03), currently available from IEC in English only. It supersedes the previous edition, published in 1994 as CAN/CSA-E335-2-50 (adopted CEVIEC 3352-50

8、:1989, including Amendment 1 :1990). This Standard was reviewed for Canadian adoption by the CSA Technical Committee on International Standards under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Resource Group, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. A list of the members of the Technical Co

9、mmittee is available upon request. This Standard has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada. Interoretations: The Strategic Resource Group has provided the following direction for the - interpretation of standards under its jurisdiction: “The literal text s

14、standards under the name Canadian Standards Association, and provides certification and testing under the name CSA International. CSA International provides certification services for manufacturers who, under license from CSA, wish to use the appropriate registered CSA Marks on certain products of t

15、heir manufacture to indicate conformity with CSA Standards. CSA Certification for a number of products is provided in the interest of maintaining agreed-upon standards of quality, performance, interchangeability and/or safety, as appropriate. Where applicable, certification may form the basis for ac

16、ceptance by inspection authorities responsible for enforcement of regulations. Where feasible, programs will be developed for additional products for which certification is desired by producers, consumers, or other interests. In performing its functions in accordance with its objectives, CSA does no

17、t assume or undertake to discharge any responsibility of the manufacturer or any other party. The opinions and findings of the Association represent its professional judgement given with due consideration to the necessary limitations of practical operation and state of the art at the time the Standa

18、rd is processed. Products in substantial accord with this Standard but which exhibit a minor difference or a new feature may be deemed to meet the Standard providing the feature or difference is found acceptable utilizing appropriate CSA International Operating Procedures. Products that comply with

19、this Standard shall not be certified if they are found to have additional features which are inconsistent with the intent of this Standard. Products shall not be certifiable if they are discovered to contravene applicable laws or regulations. Testing techniques, test procedures, and instrumentation

20、frequently must be prescribed by CSA International in addition to the technical requirements contained in Standards of CSA. In addition to markings specified in the Standard, CSA International may require special cautions, markings, and instructions that are not specified by the Standard. Some tests

21、 required by CSA Standards may be inherently hazardous. The Association neither assumes nor accepts any responsibility for any injury or damage that may occur during or as the result of tests, wherever performed, whether performed in whole or in part by the manufacturer or the Association, and wheth

22、er or not any equipment, facility, or personnel for or in connection with the test is furnished by the manufacturer or the Association. Manufacturers should note that, in the event of the failure of CSA International to resolve an issue arising from the interpretation of requirements, there is an ap

23、peal procedure: the complainant should submit the matter, in writing, to the Secretary of the Canadian Standards Association. The IEC collaborates closely with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in accordance w

International Standard IEC 60335240 has been prepared by subcommittee 61E: Safety of electrical commercial catering equipment, of IEC technical committee 61: Safety of household and similar elec

34、trical appliances. It forms the third edition of IEC 60335-2-50 and replaces the second edition, published in 1995, its amendment 1 (1996) and amendment 2 (1998). The text of this standard is based on the second edition, amendments 1 and 2 and the following documents: FDIS Report on voting I 61 E/35

35、1/FDIS I 61 E1364lRVD I Full information on the voting for the approval of this standard can be found in the report on voting indicated in the above table. 60335-2-50 0 IEC:2000(E) This part 2 is to be used in conjunction with the ,latest edition of IEC 60335-l and its amendments. It was established

36、 on the basis of the third edition (1991) of that standard. This part 2 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses in IEC 603351, so as to convert it into the IEC standard: Safety requirements for commercial electric bains-marie. Where a particular subclause of part 1 is not mentioned in this

37、 part 2, that subclause applies as far as is reasonable. Where this standard states “addition”, “modification” or “replacement”, the relevant text in part 1 is to be adapted accordingly. 39、EHOLD AND SIMILAR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES - Part 2-50: Particular requirements for commercial electric bains-marie 1 Scope This clause of part 1 is replaced by: This standard deals with the safety of electrically operated bains-marie not intended for household use, their rated voltage being not more t

40、han 250 V for single-phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral, and 480 V for other appliances. NOTE 1 These appliances are used, for example, in restaurants, canteens, hospitals and similar commercial enterprises. The electrical part of appliances making use of other forms of energy

41、is also within the scope of this standard. So far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by these types of appliances. NOTE 2 Attention is drawn to the fact that - for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements

42、may be necessary; - for appliances intended to be used in tropical countries, special requirements may be necessary; - in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, the national water sup

43、ply authorities and similar authorities; - for appliances intended to be used outdoors, additional requirements may be necessary. This standard does not apply to - appliances designed exclusively for industrial purposes; - appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail,

44、 such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas); - continuous process appliances for the mass production of food. 2 Definitions This clause of part 1 is applicable except as follows. 2.2.4 Addition: NOTE The rated power input is the sum of the power inputs of all t

45、he individual elements in the appliance which can be on at one time; where there are several such combinations possible, that giving the highest power input is used in determining the rated power input. -6- 60335-2-50 0 IEC:2000(E) 2.2.9 Replacement: normal operation: Operation of the appliance unde

46、r the following conditions: - Open-well and wet-heat-type bains-marie are filled with water to the indicated level and topped up during the test in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. The appliance is operated with any control intended to be operated by the user set at maximum. If the wa

47、ter boils, the control is then adjusted to the lowest setting that maintains simmering. No covers or containers are fitted. Dry-heat-type bains-marie are operated with any controls set at the maximum. Empty food containers are placed in the well but with the container covers removed. Combined-type a

48、ppliances are operated under the most unfavourable conditions. Motors incorporated in the appliance are operated in the intended manner under the most severe conditions which can be expected in normal use taking into account the manufacturers instructions. 2.2.101 bain-marie an appliance with a well

49、 which is used for the storage of hot food in containers The containers are indirectly heated by hot air, steam or water in the well 2.2.102 open-well-type bain-marie an appliance where the food containers rest in water in a heated well 2.2.103 wet-heat-type bain-marie prior to serving. an appliance where the fitted food containers are heated by steam generated within the appliance. The pressure in the well or steam generator does not differ significantly from atmospheric pressure 2.2.104 dry-heat-type bain-marie an appliance where the fitted food containers are heated by warm air ge
