Amendment 2 to ISO/IEC 14496-2:2004 was prepared by Joint Technical Committee ISO/IEC JTC 1, Information technology, Subcommittee SC 29, Coding of audio, picture, multimedia and hyper
14、media information. This amendment specifies two new Levels for the ISO/IEC 14496-2 Simple Profile: Level 4a and Level 5. These levels define increased capabilities of VMV size, VCV buffer size, VCV decoder rate, VBV buffer size, video packet length, and bit rate for the Simple Profile. In particular
15、, Level 4a and Level 5 provide support for typical visual session sizes of 640x480 (often known as “VGA resolution”) and 720x576 (often known as “European SDTV resolution”), respectively, in rectangular-VOP luminance sample units.
