、ory. “May” denotes a feature whose presence does not preclude compliance, and implementation of which is optional. “Optional” denotes items that may or may not be present in a compliant device. 3 Standard Test Conditions When reporting the results of tests conducted in accordance with this standard

、the user shall note that the measurements were made in accordance with CEA-2009. If the user makes additional measurements that are not specified in this standard, then this shall be noted in the report. 3.1 Power Supply Requirements Normal AC Supply Voltage: The supply voltage shall be within 1% of

、 120 V AC. Low (Brownout) Supply Voltage: The supply voltage shall be within 1% of 110 V AC. High (Over Voltage) Supply Voltage: The supply voltage shall be within 1% of 135 V AC. No (Blackout) Supply Voltage: The supply voltage shall be within 1% of 105 V AC. Direct Current: Direct-current powered

、receivers shall be tested at the recommended supply voltage 1%, and this voltage shall be stated. The supply voltage frequency in the case of AC operated receivers shall be 60 Hz 2%. The supply voltage waveform shall be a sine wave with harmonic distortion no greater than 2.0%. For DC operated recei

、vers, the DC supply voltage waveform shall have a ripple content no greater than 0.1%. CEA-2009-B 43.2 Environmental Conditions Unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer or the laboratory conducting the test measurements, all measurements shall be made at an ambient temperature of 23 degrees Celsi

、us with relative humidity of 50%, 5%. Measurements may be made at any ambient temperature between 15 and 35 degrees Celsius, and a relative humidity between 45% and 75%, provided that no significant measurement error (i.e. no significant difference from the measurements at 23 degrees Celsius and 50%

、 5% relative humidity) results. 3.3 Equipment Preconditioning The unit to be tested shall be switched on under primary power for a period of 30 minutes prior to measurement, unless the omission of the stabilization time does not result in any errors. 3.4 Audio Signal Levels If the receiver under tes

、t has a volume control, tests shall be conducted with the volume control adjusted for the maximum audio output level for which the THD+N does not exceed 10% within the frequency range 300-3,000 Hz. If THD+N never exceeds 10% then it shall be tested at the maximum audio output. If the receiver under

、test has other audio controls, such as loudness or automatic level controls, then the position of these controls must be indicated when data is reported. If no such indication is made in the report, it is assumed that any such features were turned off during testing. 3.5 Standard Load Impedance For

、audio measurements, a load consisting of a 10,000 ohm 1% resistor in parallel with a 200 pF 5% capacitor shall be connected to each line output terminal. The measuring device shall be connected as specified by the vendor. 4 REQUIREMENTS TUNER SECTION Unless otherwise specified, all measurements shal

、l be made under the standard test conditions described in Section 3, with output terminations in place. 4.1 Channel Availability The device shall be capable of receiving and successfully decoding signals on the following VHF FM frequencies: Channel Frequency 1 162.400 MHz 2 162.425 3 162.45 MHz 4 16

、2.475 162.500 MHz 6 162.525 7 162.55 MHz 4.2 Channel Selection Methods The user shall be able to manually select the channel (this shall be the default channel selection mode). When a channel is selected the unit will automatically return to that channel on the next power up. If an automatic channel

、 selection method is included may cause the unit to tune to the strongest RF signal available. If no single channel provides the strongest RF signal the unit shall select a single channel from among those multiple channels that provide the strongest signal level and use that channel CEA-2009-B 5as t

、he default channel. If the unit is intended for mobile or portable use, the automatic channel selection method may be initiated at regular intervals, or at power up, to continually update the strongest signal. 4.3 Selectivity The adjacent channel selectivity is a measure of the capability of the rec

、eiver to receive a wanted modulated signal without exceeding a given degradation due to the presence of an unwanted signal which differs in frequency from the wanted signal by an amount equal to the adjacent channel separation for which the equipment is intended. This specification shall not apply t

、o receivers incorporating AFC (automatic frequency control). 4.3.1 Measuring system block diagram See Figure 1. Figure 1: Measuring System Block Diagram 4.3.2 Measurement method a) Two signal generators A and B shall be connected to the receiver under test via a combiner. b) The wanted signal, provi

、ded by signal generator A, shall be at the nominal frequency of the receiver and be modulated with a 1 kHz tone at +/-3 kHz deviation. c) The unwanted signal, provided by signal generator B, shall be modulated with 400 Hz tone at +/-3 kHz deviation and shall be at the frequency of the channel immedi

、ately above that of the wanted signal. d) Initially, the unwanted signal shall be switched off. e) The level of the wanted signal from generator A shall be adjusted to a level which the SINAD meter reading is 12 dB SINAD. f) Record the level of signal generator A as P1. g) Increase the signal genera

、tor A level by 3 dB h) The unwanted signal from signal generator B shall then be switched on. i) Adjust the output level of signal generator B until the SINAD meter reading returns to 12 dB SINAD. j) Record the level of signal generator B as P2. k) Calculate selectivity by subtracting P1 from P2. l)

、 The measurement shall be repeated with the unwanted signal at the frequency of the channel Signal Generator A Signal Generator B Combiner Receiver Under Test Audio Frequency Load/Acoustic Coupler SINAD Meter CEA-2009-B 6below that of the wanted signal. m) The adjacent channel selectivity of the equ

、ipment under test shall be expressed as the lower of the two values calculated in step l) for the upper and lower channels nearest to the receiving channel. n) Selectivity shall be at least 50 dB. 4.4 Signal-to-Noise Ratio The S/N is measured under the following conditions: RF modulation: 1 kHz tone

、 at +/- 3 kHz. RF level: 1 mV, for channels 1-7 A weighted or CCIT weighted RMS detection with line trap (15.734 kHz null filter is optional) De-emphasis. Measurement location: Line output (or speaker terminals) With standard test signal level applied, the ratio of rated audio power with standard te

、st modulation to residual audio power with no modulation at the same volume setting shall be 37 dB. The method of measurement is a standard RF signal source with standard test modulation adjusted to a level of 1 mV connected to the receiver. Adjust the volume control to produce the rated audio output or the minimum level expected (200mW for consumer or 2 W for institutional devices). Turn off modulation and record the reduction in output level in dB. 4.5 Spurious Signal Rejection In addition to the response to a signal at
