Forallsuchservices,thedatatobedisseminated,andthemessagestructureinvolvedinthevarious interfaces,requirecleardefinitionandstandardsformatsinordertoallowcompetitiveproductsto operatewithanyreceiveddata. Thistechnicalspecificationfocusesonanapplicationdataspecificationwherebydataisproduceda

26、ta centrallocationandisdisseminatedviaacellularradionetwork.Itaddressesthedataspecificationsfor bothdownlinkanduplinkexistingbetweenacentrallocationandrandomlylocatedvehicles.Itenables messagestobeexchangedbetweendifferentsystemsandserviceprovidersadoptingavarietyof applicationsspecifications. 27、techncialspecificationsarebeingproducedbytheCENTC278WorkingGroup4tocoverTTI disseminationviaothermeansorservices.ThissetofspecificationsisnamedGATS(GlobalAutomotive TelematicsStandard).GATSprovidesthemodularframeworkforimplementingsuchtraffictelematics servicesonanopentechnologyplatformandisnetworki

28、ndependent.Inmanydetailsdefinitionsare necessarytoensureinteroperability.Therefore,thosedetaileddefinitionsaregiveninanetworkspecific part(CEN/TS148218).WiththedevelopmentoffuturemobilecommunicationsystemstowardsUMTS/ IMT2000thebottleneckofnarrowbanddatacommunicationmightfade.Duetoitsmodularstructur

29、e, theGATSframeworkandapplicationsarepreparedforthatduetoitsnetworkindependence.Thesame holdsforemergingtechnologiesforpositioningwhichtodayisalmostexclusivelybasedonGPS. Otherrelevantstandarddevelopmentsare,independentfromtelematics,theapplicationindependent WirelessApplicationProtocol(WAP),enablin

Scope ThisCEN/TSdefinesthespecificinterfacesandfunctionalityoftraffictelematics(TT)servicesbasedon theuseofcellularnetworks.Devicemanufacturersareenabledtodevelopterminalequ

32、ipment compatibletoservicesbasedonthistechnicalspecification.Thiswillallowforinteroperabilityofdifferent terminalequipmentandserviceproviderswhichallowscompetitionbetweenserviceprovidersand terminalmanufacturers.Furthermoreitsetsthesceneforinternationalavailabilityoftheseservices. Thistechnicalspeci

33、ficationspecifies TTspecificinterfacesbetweenterminalandservicecentre.Thisespeciallyincorporatesthe messagesetsoftheapplicationdataprotocolsandtheserviceindependentcommunicationhandling (includingconditionalaccessandtransportprotocols). Functionality,proceduresandrequirementsofbasicterminalcomponent
