14、ipment shall be the standard products of a manufacturer regularly engaged in the manufacture of the products and shall be the manufacturers latest standard design that has been in satisfactory use for at least 2 years prior to bid opening. 2.2 WIRING SYSTEM The category for cable, jacks and blocks s
15、hould be the same throughout each circuit and system. Specify more than two categories only if providing two systems requiring different categories. general, Category 3 (up to 1OMHz transmission) should be used for voice circuits and Category 5 (up to 1OOMHz) should be used for data circuits. Verify

Ensure that the NEC 60 percent maximum conduit fill is considered when sizing cables. When sizing the cables and determining the category, keep in mind whether the system is
18、 voice-only or voice-data. Use pin/pair configuration T568A unless the host facility has standardized on T568B NOTE: See Additional Note E. The wiring system shall be in conformance with EIA 568. 2.2.1 Horizontal Cables Horizontal cables between the telecommunication outlet and the connecting hardwa
19、re shall be in accordance with the requirements of EIA 568 for 100-ohm, unshielded, twisted-pair and shall be category 3 5 in conformance with EIA TSB 36. Type, per ICEA S-80-576, shall be as shown. 2.2.2 Backbone Cables Backbone cables between the entrance facility and telecommunication closets and
20、 equipment rooms shall be of the same category as the horizontal cable it serves. Cables shall be in accordance with the requirements of EIA 568 for 100-ohm, unshielded, twisted-pair and EIA TSB 36. Cables shall not be installed in the same cable tray, utility pole compartment, or floor trench compartment
