26、6.1, 7, 8 and Annexes A and B of CSA B620. 4.2 Applicability of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel CodeThe requirements of Clause 5.1.1 of CSA B620 that apply to TC 406 highway tanks shall apply to TC 44 tanks.Note: Clause 5.1.1 of CSA B620 references the ASME Code.4.3 Materials4.3.1 GeneralThe con

27、struction materials for shell, heads, bulkheads, and baffles shall meet the requirements of Section II, Parts A and B, of the ASME Code, CSA G40.21-300W (44W), and CSA G40.21-350W (50W), or the requirements of Clause 5.6.3.1 of CSA B620 that are applicable to TC 406 highway tanks, except that fibreg

28、lass-reinforced plastics (FRP) shall not be used.5(Replaces p. 5, February 2009)B626-09 Canadian Standards AssociationFebruary 20104.3.2 Minimum thicknessFor TC 44 tanks with rectangular construction, the walls or bulkheads shall be of a minimum thickness that ensures that the maximum stress levels

29、determined in accordance with Clauses 4.7 and 4.8 are not exceeded. However, the thickness shall not be less than 6.4 mm (1/4 in). The baffles shall be of a minimum thickness that ensures that the maximum stress levels determined in accordance with Clauses 4.7 and 4.8 are not exceeded. However, the

30、thickness shall not be less than 4.76 mm (3/16 in).For TC 44 tanks of non-rectangular construction, the shells, heads, bulkheads, and baffles shall be of a minimum thickness that ensures that the maximum stress levels specified in Clause 5.6.4 of CSA B620 are not exceeded. However, the thickness sha

31、ll not be less than the applicable value specified in Table 5.2 or 5.3 of CSA B620.4.3.3 Corrosion allowance and liningsThe requirements specified in Clause 5.6.3.3 of CSA B620, except those that apply to tanks of FRP construction, shall apply to TC 44 tanks.4.4 Minimum capacity and maximum allowabl

32、e working pressure (MAWP)TC 44 tanks shall have a(a) minimum capacity of 3000 L; and(b) MAWP between 18 and 28 kPa (2.65 and 4 psig).4.5 Design4.5.1 The requirements of Clauses 5.1.2 and 5.1.4 of CSA B620 shall apply to TC 44 tanks.4.5.2 Rectangular TC 44 tanks shall be designed in accordance with C

33、lauses 4.7 and 4.8. For the purpose of calculating the dynamic loadings of a rectangular TC 44 tank, the vertical tank walls located across the longitudinal axis of the tank shall be considered heads.4.6 Multi-unit connecting structures and drainsThe requirements of Clause 5.6.2 of CSA B620 related

34、to connecting structures and drains on multi-unit structures shall apply to TC 44 tanks, except that the strength of connecting structures shall meet the design requirements of Clauses 4.7 and 4.8.4.7 Structural integrity4.7.1 Non-rectangular tanksFor TC 44 tanks other than those of rectangular cons

35、truction, the structural integrity requirements of Clauses 5.6.4 and 5.7.3 of CSA B620 shall apply, except those that apply to tanks of FRP construction.4.7.2 Rectangular tanks4.7.2.1 General The requirements specified in Clause 5.6.4.1 of CSA B620 shall apply to rectangular TC 44 tanks, except that
