9、 or material number 2.4038: or 5sQ * 4 50 billets IWO L DIN 1702 - 2.4036 Explanations The naterials for depolarized and carbonized anodes were OrigiMlly listed in the draft DIN 17740 “Nickel in semi-finished products“, Issue of July 1961, and denoted by the symbols Ni99.7(O2) and Ni99SiC. These are
10、 now included in DIN 1702 which comprises the standard nickel anodes. The materials referred to above have ceased to be contained in the finalized standard DIN 17740. The content of this Standard confines itself mainly to a Table listiirg 6ymbOl8, material numbers and analysis data for the four diff
11、erent anode grades. Information on use has been deliberately excluded because the wide range both of the electrolyte used and of the operating conditions prevailing make6 it impossible to give verifiable figures, for example, for optimum pH values and current densitiea, whilst generalizations such as average pH values or “current density not too high“ are of no value. It remains the objective of all the parties concerned, however, to collect the neceseary figures a0 that during some future revision the appropriate additions can be made to the Standard in this direction.
