12、 1 Scope All parts of the DIN 18008 standards series apply to the design and construction of building products made of glass. This Part 1 specifies the basics valid for all parts of the standard. This standard is not applicable to individual panes of nominal glass thicknesses of less than 3 mm and g

13、reater than 19 mm, respectively. Unless specified otherwise in the subsequent parts of the standard, requirements for the support structure (glazing bead, substructure, fixation on the building) do not form part of this standard. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispen

27、 planned to occur during their intended use and to remain serviceable. 4.1.2 As a result of the brittle fracture behaviour of glass, particular structures or installation situations may require sufficient residual load-bearing capacity. 4.1.3 The residual load-bearing capacity of glazing structures

28、depends on the type of structure, the degree of damage and the external actions to be taken into consideration. 4.2 Design by testing Instead of calculated verifications in accordance with the provisions stipulated in this standards series, experimental verifications are also allowed if the procedur

29、e and interpretation of the tests are dealt with by this standard. 5 Construction materials 5.1 Glass 5.1.1 Products For the definition of the terms associated with the products applicable within the framework of this standard, reference is made to the following standards: DIN EN 572-2 for float gla

30、ss; DIN EN 572-3 for polished wire glass; DIN EN 572-4 for drawn sheet glass; DIN EN 572-5 for patterned glass; DIN EN 572-6 for wired patterned glass; DIN EN 1096-1 for coated glass; DIN 18008-1:2010-12 8 DIN EN 1279 1 for insulating glass units; DIN EN 1748-1-1 for borosilicate glass; DIN EN 1863-

The exact scope of application of the products is specified in the subsequent parts of this standard. 5.1.2 Material properties For the purposes of calculations performed within the framework of this standards series, the material properties

33、 stated in Table 2 shall be used for glass. 34、fracture pattern This standards series is based on the assumption that by complying with the relevant provisions for the product properties the minimum characteristic tensile bending strength (5 % quantile with a confidence level of 95 %) and the typical fracture pattern can be ensured for panes of

35、sizes used in buildings. 5.1.4 Edge damage Thermally toughened glass shall be checked for edge damage. Panes exhibiting edge damage penetrating into the glass volume by more than 15 % of the pane thickness shall not be installed. 5.2 Interlayers in contact with the glass It shall be ensured that all

36、 materials used are durably resistant to the actions to be taken into consideration (e.g. frost, temperature variations, UV radiation, suitable detergents and cleaning methods, contact materials), based on the assumption of professional maintenance and care. DIN 18008-1:2010-12 9 6 Actions 6.1 Exter

37、nal loads The characteristic action values to be used (selfweight, wind, snow, earthquake loads, etc.) and, if applicable, ice and climatic loads shall be taken from the relevant standards. 6.2 Insulating glass units 6.2.1 Pressure differences For verifications of insulating glass units in accordanc

38、e with DIN EN 1279-1, the effect of pressure differences between the cavity and the surrounding atmosphere shall be taken into consideration. Based on the conditions present during the sealing of the cavities, the pressure differences are a consequence of temperature changes of the filling gas and c

39、hanges in the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere. The changes in atmospheric pressure are a result of meteorological conditions and differences in the altitude at which the insulating glass units are manufactured and installed. 6.2.2 Combinations of actions Extreme pressure differences between t

40、he surrounding atmosphere and the cavity occur for the condition “winter” (with low temperatures and high-pressure conditions) and “summer” (with high temperatures and low-pressure conditions). In addition to the values for the temperature differences T and the changes in the atmospheric pressure pm

41、et, Table 3 contains information on the differences in altitude H to be applied to conditions covering normal cases. If the differences in the altitude exceed those assumed in Table 3, the actual value of the difference in site altitude shall be taken into consideration. If the actual differences in

42、 altitude are lower than those given in Table 3, the latter may be used. 43、n in Table 3 applies to insulating glass units having a total energy absorption of less than 30 % under normal conditions. 46、1.2 When determining stresses and deformations, linear-elastic material behaviour shall be assumed for glass. 7.1.3 Favourable effects which are geometrically nonlinear (e.g. membrane effect in the calculation of plates) may be taken into account; unfavourable effects which are geometrically nonline

47、ar are required to be taken into account. 7.1.4 The calculation of the stresses shall be performed such that local stress concentrations (e.g. at drill holes and re-entrant corners) are taken into account with sufficient accuracy. 7.1.5 Effects due to the supporting structure (e.g. imperfections or

48、deformations) which result in stress increases that cannot be neglected shall be considered when performing the verifications. 7.1.6 For the glass thicknesses, the nominal values given in the relevant product standards shall be used. 7.2 Shear interaction 7.2.1 When determining stresses and deformations for laminated glass and laminated safety glass, favourable shear interaction between the individua
