、ment in projects 3 Terms and definitions For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply. - 3.1 setting out transposition of geometric quantities of a project configuration according to horizontal position and elevation to the site NOTE 1 See DIN 18709-2. NOTE 2 Geometric

、 project planning is the act of defining the geometric quantities of the intended condition of an object (see DIN 18709-2). NOTE 3 On the site or in the terrain, a geometric quantity is transposed by setting out points in one, two or three dimensions. NOTE 4 Setting out also includes marking and, fr

、equently, verification of the set-out points by surveys (see DIN 18710-1:2010-09, Table 1). DIN 18710-3:2010-09 5 NOTE 5 Setting-out is intended to transpose object points or axes of structures or civil engineering works, e.g. axes of buildings onto batter boards, abutments and wing walls of bridges

、, in transport infrastructure, the axes of roads, railway lines and waterways, spatial relationships of technical installations and plants, to the site. 3.2 setting-out documents all construction-related and survey documents required for setting out NOTE For example, the construction execution docum

、he geometry of the construction works 3.6 set-out record documentation kept and maintained at the site to record the survey results during the setting-out work NOTE See Annex B for an example of a set-out record. 3.7 reference system fundamental definition system used to determine the position of po

、ints in one, two or three dimensions NOTE A distinction is made between an external and an internal reference system (see DIN 18710-1:2010-09). DIN 18710-3:2010-09 6 3.8 object point point on the object being surveyed NOTE 1 See DIN 18709-1. NOTE 2 The points to be set out during setting-out are obj

、ect points. 3.9 set-out accuracy qualitative designation of the extent to which the result of setting-out approximates the specified set-out data 4 Requirements for setting-out 4.1 General The following specifications are to be taken into consideration when planning, executing and evaluating the res

、ults of setting-out. They supplement and/or provide explanatory information with respect to the specifications in Clause 4 of DIN 18710-1:2010-09. 4.2 Task description Before commencing the setting-out work, the requirements to be met shall be specified in a survey programme in which all required do

、cuments (see DIN 1961) and information shall be listed. As explained in Clause 4 of DIN 18710-1:2010-09, the set-out task description shall contain at least the following specifications: description of the site to be set out with information on the purpose as well as on quantities which will affect

、the measurements; provision, by the contracting entity, of up-to-date and binding documents required for the setting-out; specification of measurement accuracy requirements (see 4.6) and, where necessary, the tolerances to be observed; specification of the reference system for the survey; scope and

、type of documentation of the setting-out. 4.3 Survey programme On the basis of the task description (see 4.2), the survey programme shall group together, substantiate and document the requirements on the setting-out work and the evaluation of the results. The survey programme shall be specific to en

、sure that the object is set out correctly. Depending on the task description, it shall contain, inter alia (see 4.2 and DIN 18710-1): the description of the object to be measured; details of the measuring instruments to be used; the measurement procedures (see 4.4.) intended to ensure that measureme

、nt accuracy requirements (see 4.6) are met; DIN 18710-3:2010-09 7 information on the position, elevation and accuracy of the survey points provided (geodetic control stations); information on the distribution and marking of the survey points; marking, securing and protecting survey and object points

、; the order in which the setting-out is to be conducted; specification of the measurement accuracy requirements, including standard deviations or set-out tolerances permissible for the setting-out work; other conditions which are of importance for the set-out results; NOTE See Annex A for an example

、 of a set-out survey programme. specifications concerning the qualifications of the survey personnel. 4.4 Measurement procedures As described in DIN 18710-1, the measurement procedures, in conjunction with the specified measuring instruments, shall at least ensure that: the survey points are determi

、ned in conformity with the specified measurement accuracy requirements; the required protection against gross errors (see DIN 18709-4) and systematic measurement errors exists; the specified requirements for evaluation and provision of the results are met. 4.5 Measuring instruments Requirements on m

、easuring instruments depend on: the task description; the standard deviations or set-out tolerances (survey tolerances) of the points to be set out. The surveying equipment used for the survey and setting-out work shall be recorded. The measuring instruments used shall be checked (e.g. in accordance

、 with DIN 18723-1) close to the time when the measurements are made. The results of these checks shall be documented (calibration and alignment records). 4.6 Measurement accuracy 4.6.1 General The requirements on measurement accuracy x are derived from the agreements drawn up with the entity issuing

、 the survey contract or from the specification with regard to size tolerances T (e.g. as described in DIN 18202 and DIN EN ISO 286-1). DIN 18710-3:2010-09 8 4.6.2 Size tolerance, setting-out tolerance (survey tolerance) and standard deviation As defined in DIN 18710-1:2010-09, 4.6, the following rel

、ation between a size tolerance T and a standard deviation xshall be assumed: 0,1 xT 0,2 (1) The selected measurement procedure and measuring instruments shall ensure that systematic measurement errors will not affect the resulting setting-out work. NOTE 1 For setting-out work the setting-out toleran

、ces TM(survey tolerances) according to DIN 18710-1:2010-09, Annex D are specified as a component of the size tolerance T (overall tolerance). The standard deviation xto be achieved in the specified direction is derived from these tolerances. NOTE 2 The tolerances (see DIN 18720-1:2010-09, Annex B) a

、pply to the measurements which define the horizontal position and elevation of marked or mapped points. According to DIN 18710-1, there shall be a reasonable relationship between the setting-out tolerance TM(survey tolerance) and the execution tolerance TA(i.e. the tolerance achieved on execution of

、 the construction works), this relationship being determined essentially by economic considerations regarding the cost of setting-out and project execution. A ratio of x T 0,2 between the measurement accuracy and the tolerance is usually assumed. 4.7 Setting-out documents 4.7.1 General The survey do

、cuments required for setting-out (see 3.1) comprise the set-out plans and set-out data needed for transposing geometric quantities of the project to the site. The setting-out documents (see DIN 1961) shall be up to date, unambiguous, complete and free of contradictory information. The processing sta

、tus shall be stated on the documents. The documents provided for the setting-out work shall be checked before survey work is commenced to make sure they contain no ambiguous or contradictory information. 4.7.2 Set-out plan The set-out plan shall be drawn up on the basis of valid construction-related

、 and survey documents. NOTE The set-out plan comprises a graphic section and an explanatory text section. The graphic section of the set-out plan defines the scope and distribution of the points and axes to be set out. The points and/or axes whose positions and elevations are to be set out shall be

、specified in the set-out plan. Compliance with the neighbourhood principle shall be assured by using measures to indicate the relationships between neighbouring points and axes. DIN 18710-3:2010-09 9 The explanatory part of the set-out plan shall specify the following: deviations or tolerances on th

、e structure (e.g. in accordance with DIN 18202); the accuracy of the set-out points (see 4.6 and Tables 1 and 2 of DIN 18710-1:2010-09). particular constraints which may affect the set-out (e.g. progress of construction work, accessibility, measuring time restrictions, reference temperatures, respon

、sibilities, building legislation and technical restrictions). 4.7.3 Set-out data Set-out data shall be taken directly from the set-out plan or calculated on the basis of the construction documents. The reference systems for horizontal position and elevation shall be specified. NOTE Examples of set-o

、ut data for construction work are given in Table C.1. 4.8 Execution 4.8.1 General Setting-out work is executed on the basis of the task description. If there are any deviations from the survey programme specifications (see 4.3), these shall be noted in the documentation (see 4.10). The following sha

、ll be defined for the setting-out procedure: contracting entitys person of contact for the setting-out work; contractors person of contact for the setting-out work, survey manager; coordination scheme required for the surveying work. The contractor shall have at his disposal sufficiently qualified p

、ersonnel to set the objects out correctly. The measuring equipment used shall be documented. Depending on the requirements, the points which have been set out may have to be verified several times by measurement. The deviations determined by the measurements shall be compared to the permissible devi

、ations as defined in DIN 18710-1:2010-09 and shall be documented. Wherever possible, the following measures shall be taken in order to permit independent verification of the set-out. repetition of the set-out measurements from other reference points than the ones used for previous setting-out work,

、including re-calculation of the coordinates obtained from the values determined by the control measurements and comparison of these to the set-out data. 4.8.2 Reference system Before being used, the respective geodetic control stations of the reference system (see DIN 18710-1:2010-09, 3.2.1) shall be checked to ensure that they are still correct. This verification shall be documented. DIN 18710-3:2010-09 10 If the accuracy of the geodetic control stations provided
