、dditional details may be agreed upon if so marked. 5 Requirements 5.1 Lining 5.1.1 General It may be assumed that the application of a lining will not change the properties of the semi-finished product, the chemical composition and mechanical properties of which shall conform to the relevant standar
、ds listed in table 1. The lining material shall be selected for the chemical, thermal and mechanical stresses and other conditions of service. DIN 2875:2002-06 7 5.1.2 Soft rubber Unvulcanized semi-finished products shall be used for soft rubber linings, while prevulcanized or completely vulcanized
、semi-finished products shall only be used with the consent of the customer. The lining thickness shall normally be 4 mm, but other thicknesses for specific applications may be agreed. The following types of rubber are in frequent use: NR Isoprene rubber, natural (natural rubber) CR Chloroprene rubbe
、r NBR Acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber CSM Chlorosufonated polyethylene IIR Isobutene-isoprene rubber CIIR Chloro-isobutene-isoprene rubber BIIR Bromo-isobutene-isoprene rubber SBR Styrene-butadiene rubber 5.1.3 Hard rubber Semi-finished products for hard rubber linings shall not be vulcanized and sha
、ll be free of imperfections. The minimum lining thickness shall normally be 3 mm, and the following rubber types are frequently used: NR Isoprene rubber, natural (natural rubber) SBR Styrene-butadiene rubber NBR Acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber 5.1.4 Soft rubber linings with hard rubber sealing faces
、One of the materials listed in subclause 5.1.2 shall be used for lining steel components, with the exception of the flange facings, for which a material listed in subclause 5.1.3 shall be used. 5.1.5 Hardness When confirming an order, the manufacturer shall give the hardness of soft rubber in Shore
、A units, and that of hard rubber in Shore D units, as in DIN 53505. The permitted deviation from the agreed hardness shall be 5 Shore A or D units. 5.1.6 Other properties Other properties required of the lining (e.g. biocompatibility, radiation resistance, decontaminability) shall be the subject of
、agreement. 5.2 Manufacturing 5.2.1 General Production sites shall be suitably equipped and staffed for manufacturing, inspecting and testing as required. DIN 2875:2002-06 8 5.2.2 Steel components 5.2.2.1 General Steel components shall be designed to comply with DIN 28051. 5.2.2.2 Welding Welding sha
、ll be carried out so as to produce full-penetration welds, in compliance with the requirements of class A4 as in table 1 of DIN 28053:1988-11, and with DIN EN 1708-1. Welds shall be checked for any imper-fections. If intended for use under internal pressure, components shall be manufactured so that
、welds are ca-pable of accommodating stresses equal to least 85 % of the maximum design stress. Local dressing of welds is permitted, and the customer may demand one-off proof of the suitability of the dressing method (cf. penultimate paragraph of this subclause). The manufacturer shall have the equi
、pment and personnel to enable welding to be satisfactorily carried out, tested and inspected. The customer may demand one-off proof that the above requirements have been met. Details, particularly with regard to the testing agency, shall be subject to agreement. Such confirmation shall only apply fo
、r the steel grades, dimensions, welding procedures and consumables it specifically mentions. The scope of non-destructive testing of circumferential welds is subject to agreement. 5.2.2.3 External protection Surfaces to be externally protected shall be prepared by blast-cleaning to standard preparat
、ion grade Sa 2 as in DIN EN ISO 12944-4. Other methods of surface preparation or requirements of finishes shall be subject to agreement. As external protection, the component shall be given a priming coat as in DIN EN ISO 12944-5, with the paint system used being at the manufacturers discretion. Any other type of external protection shall be subject to
