Previous editions DIN 4301: 1941-03, 1962-03, 1980-11, 1981-04 3 DIN 4301:2009-06 1 Scope This standard specifies requirements relating to products made from metallurgical slag of iron, steel and

8、non-ferrous metal production for use in civil engineering. This slag is used in applications such as the following: the construction of highways and other thoroughfares and traffic areas; earthwork; hydraulic engineering; track construction; concrete, screeds, mortar and cement. For the purposes of

9、this standard, metallurgical slag of iron, steel and non-ferrous metal production does not include slag from foundries and residues from combustion processes such as from power stations or incineration plants. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the applic

NOTE This standard makes a distinction between slag originating from metallurgical processe

29、s in connection with the production of iron and steel (ferrous slag) and that originating from the production of other metals (non-ferrous slag). 3.1 ferrous slag collective designation for blast furnace slag and steel slag 3.1.1 blast furnace slag mineral melt, produced during the production of hot

30、 metal NOTE Depending on the cooling conditions, blast furnace slag is either crystalline or vitreous on solidification. 3.1.1.1 air-cooled blast furnace slag slowly cooled blast furnace slag in slag pits, which is crystalline on solidification 3.1.1.2 granulated blast furnace slag fine-grained blas

47、e stability. Air-cooled blast furnace slag, steel slag and air-cooled slag from waelz oxide production require proof of volume stability to suit the type of application for which they are used. When tested according to DIN EN 1744-1, air-cooled blast furnace slag shall be free from both lime and iro

48、n disintegration. Air-cooled slag from waelz oxide production shall be free from lime disintegration. The free lime content and increase in volume measured in steel slag shall not be greater than the limit values specified in TL Gestein-StB or TLW. The test of the free lime content and increase in volume shall be according to DIN EN 1744-1 or DIN EN 13383-2. For applications that involve steel slag but are not subject to any requirements rela
