Previous editions DIN 976-2: 1995-02, 2009-02 DIN 976-2:2016-09 4 1 Scope This standard specifies dimensions and technical delivery conditions for stud bolts intended for u
9、se in light metals (including aluminium). Stud bolts complying with this standard are not suitable for use in steel or cast iron. For economic reasons, it is recommended that, instead of studs with a very small unthreaded portion, stud bolts with an interference-fit thread be used for such applicati
10、ons. However, care shall be taken that the required depth of thread engagement is ensured, since stud bolts are not provided with a thread run-out, which normally determines the depth of thread engagement. It cannot be assumed with certainty that stud bolts with lengths exceeding those specified for

27、ll be marked at one end with the symbol denoting the property class according to DIN EN ISO 898-1. Stud bolts of property class 4.8 are not required to be marked. It is not required that stud bolts be marked with the manufacturers symbol. Stud bolts made of grade A2 or A4 austenitic stainless steel
28、and with a nominal diameter of size M5 or greater (d 5 mm) shall be marked at one end with the symbol denoting the material grade (A2 or A4). Marking of nonferrous metal stud bolts is not required. 6.2 Colour coding As an alternative to marking as in 6.1, stud bolts may be marked at one end with a c

The length of thread engagement for stud bolts of property classes 5.6 and 8.8 shall be 2d, that for property class 10.9 2,5d.
