National foreword This standard includes safety requirements. This standard has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 202 “Foundry machinery Sa
6、fety” (Secretariat: DIN, Germany). The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuss Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee), Working Committee NA 060-04-01 AA Gieereimaschinen of Section Gieereimaschinen. Representatives of manufacturers and users of
7、ladles, pouring equipment, centrifugal casting machines, continuous and semi continuous casting machines, and of the employers liability insurance associations contributed to this standard. This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Machinery
8、Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, and which apply to machines that are either first placed on the market or commissioned within the EEA. This standard serves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of the directive. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the
9、 European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). The European Standards referred to in Clause 2 and in the Bibliography of this document have bee
10、n published as the corresponding DIN EN or DIN EN ISO Standards with the same number. Where the International Standards referred to are not also DIN ISO Standards, there are no national standards available, except for the following: ISO 3864-1 similar to DIN 4844-1 Amendments This standard differs f
11、rom DIN EN 1247:2004-10 as follows: a) the requirements of the new “Machinery Directive”, Directive 2006/42/EC, have been taken into account; b) EN 294, EN 418, EN 563 and EN 954-1 have been replaced by corresponding EN ISO Standards; c) new standards have been taken into account: EN 842, EN 981, EN

31、O 12100. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards, the provisions of this type
32、C standard take precedence over the provisions of the other standards, for machines that have been designed and built according to the provisions of this type C standard. Where for clarity an example of a preventative measure is given in the text, this should not be considered as the only possible s
33、olution. Other solutions can be used as far as they fulfil correctly the criteria expressed in the requirement. This European Standard assumes, that the equipment is operated and maintained by trained personnel.“ 1 Scope This document specifies requirements to be met by the manufacturer for the fore
34、seeable significant hazards due to design, construction and installation, during commissioning, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of the following machines and equipment which are used directly and indirectly for the manufacture of castings: Ladles; Pouring equipment; Centrifugal casting m
35、achines for production of tubes (only machines with horizontal or oblique axis of rotation); Continuous and semi continuous casting machines for non-ferrous metals. This document specifies the safety requirements in addressing the following items: controls; protection against: mechanical hazards, mo
36、vement of machines and material, ejection of parts, material, liquids and gases, implosion, structural instability; electric hazards; explosion, fire, scalds, contact with hot parts (burns), gases and flames; noise and vibration; thermal radiation; harmful by-products, poisoning, pollution of operat
