This standard contains specifications meeting the essential requirements set out in Annex I of the “Lifts Directive”, Directive 95/16/EC, and which apply to lifts that are either first placed on the market or commis-sioned within the EEA. This standard se
8、rves to facilitate proof of compliance with the essential requirements of that directive. Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirements of the
9、 Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). The European Standards referred to in Clause 2 and in the Bibliography of the EN have been published as the corresponding DIN EN or DIN EN ISO Standards with the same number. Amendments This standard differs from DIN EN 81-1:2010-06 and DIN EN 81-2
10、:2010-08 as follows: a) requirements relating to the construction as specified in DIN EN 81-1:2010-06 and DIN EN 81-2:2010-08 have been deleted; b) test requirements specified in DIN EN 81-1:2010-06 and DIN EN 81-2:2010-08 have been included; c) safety has been improved due to changes in proven tech

The need for replacement was based on the following points: improvement in safety due to changes in available technology; the need to reflect changes to the state of the art; incorporation of essential health and safety requirements from the relevant EU Directives; elimination
39、 of obvious errors; incorporation of proposals resulting from interpretation requests1); improvement of the references to other standards according to the progress in that field.
