Once this standard is cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, it is deemed a “harmonized” standard and thus, a manufacturer applying this standard may assume compliance with the requirement
9、s of the Machinery Directive (“presumption of conformity”). 12、nal Annex NA (informative) Information for manufacturers, operators/users and designers A.1 General When planning means of access to machinery, care should be taken to ensure that, in compliance with EN ISO 12100, all relevant information necessary for the design and construction of fixed ladders is
13、 provided by the operator/user. This applies in particular to information regarding limits of use, spatial limits and other limits, such as the ambient conditions forming the basis for appropriate material selection. It is, therefore, recommended that the required information take the form of a chec
14、klist. It should be noted that the respective specific part or parts of this standards series are to be seen in connection with Part 1 which specifies the order for the selection of the means of access to machinery and the general requirements for the means of access. For means of access supplied to
15、 countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), the national regulations of these countries can also be relevant, e.g. those which should be included in a specification. A.2 Editorial notes Subclause 4.1.3: In Subclause 4.1.3, the expression “where obstacles such as pipes or trays cross” does n
16、ot mean bundles of pipes or several trays, but only an individual pipe or an individual tray in each case.
