SCOPE. This commercial item description covers the requiremen
2、ts for the cramponsto be used when walking on ice or ascending and descending steep ice faces to preventslipping.2. CLASSIFICATION. The crampons shall be of one type and size.3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.3.1 Design and construction. The crampons shall be heat-treated 4130 steel. Thecrampon shall have
3、12 spikes and an adjustable center hinge to adjust the length of thecrampon (see figure I). All nuts necessary for assembly shall be furnished with a nylonlocking insert. The crampon shall also be fully adjustable in sizes and widths and becompatible with insulated, cold weather boots (MIL-B-41816),
4、 ski-mountain boots (MIL-B-43739), and other various commercial mountaineering boots with the aid of a big footcenter piece when necessary. The crampon shall have six attachment points for l/2-inchwide strap binding. The crampons shall be furnished with all tools, instructions, andhardware necessary
5、 to assemble and adjust the crampons. The crampons shall be blackor gold in color with an epoxy coating. The crampons shall be furnished in pairs.Maximum weight per pair, including tools, shall be 750 grams. The manufacturersidentification symbol shall be stamped on the crampon.4. REGULATORY REQUIRE

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to userecovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).Beneficial comments, recommendations, additions, deletions, clarifications, etc. and any data whichmay improve this

8、ANCE PROVISIONS.5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics ofthis commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings,specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and to be the same productoffered for sale in the commercial mar
9、ket. The government reserves the right to requireproof of such conformance.5.2 Visual examination. Each item shall be examined for the defects listed below.Defects. Finish not smooth and adherent; not free of burrs, forging laps, rough spots,sharp edges (except for crampon spikes which shall come to
10、 a point), slivers, flat areas orprojections; any component missing or not specified type; any component fractured, split,dented, bowed, malformed, damaged or loose; markings in wrong location, incomplete,illegible, or not as specified.5.3 Dimensional examination. The crampons shall be examined with
11、out damaging ordisassembling the item. The lot size shall be expressed in units of crampons. The sampleunit shall be one crampons.5.4 Acceptance criteria. Acceptance criteria shall be as specified in the contract orpurchase order.6. PACKAGING.6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. The preservation,
