Abstract. This Commercial Item Descripti
2、on covers the requirements for a womens acrylic neckwear scarf. The scarf is intended for wear by female personnel of the Department of the Navy. Salient Characteristics. The scarf shall be made of one piece single thickness material with fringed ends and overedge stitched side edges. The length dir
3、ection of the scarf shall be in the warp direction of the material, with even 3/4 (+1/4,-1/8) inch fringing on the ends. The overedge stitch on the sides of the scarf shall be 3/16 inch wide, 16 - 18 stitches per inch, with the chain at each end of stitching the same length as the fringe (-1/4 inch
4、tolerance). The finished dimensions of the scarf shall be 46-1/2 to 48 inches long (including fringe), and 10-1/2 to 11-1/4 inches wide (including overedge stitching). The fiber for the basic cloth shall be acrylic, semi
7、-dull, 2 ply warp and filling yarns of a suitable staple length, twisted with 6-9 turns per inch, Z twist. The ply yarn consists of two single yarns, each with 5-9 turns per inch, S twist. The cotton thread for seaming the edges of the scarf shall be ticket number 00, 3 ply, conforming to type III (mercerized machine thread) of A-A-52094 except that the colorfastness requirements do not apply. Each scarf shall be individually coded with a type VIII, class 17 of DDD-L-20 label/tag bar code for personal clothing items, bar code is completely visible in the packaging. The scarf shall be

The occurrence of defects shall not exceed-the applicable acceptable quality levels. Product Demonstration Model. When required, offerers shall submit samples of thei
14、r intended production. The product demonstration model will consist of units independently developed. Product demonstration models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award are contained in the solicitation. Product demonstration models will be retaine
15、d by the government. One (1) product demonstration model approved by DPSC under the resultant contract will serve as a manufacturing standard for the corresponding production items delivered under this contract. Offerers are advised that the product demonstration model does not relieve the successfu
16、l offerer of his responsibility to perform in accordance with the Commercial Item Description specified above. Quality Assurance Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers o
17、wn drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on contractor QA systems shall no

The sample unit is one scarf. Defects. The scarfs shall be examined for the following defects: Any hole, cut, tear, smash, floats,
20、slubs, needle chew, Width of overedge stitching less than 1/8 inch or more than Fringe missing on one or both ends, ragged or uneven. Break in overedge stitching, runoff, loose tension, exposed Spot, stain clearly visible or thread ends not trimmed. Bar code label/tag omitted or not scannable, human
21、-readable shade bar, streak or wrong color. 3/16 inch; overedge stitching missing. Thread wrong color, not size or type specified. loops or tight tension, resulting in puckering. interpretation (HRI) omitted or illegible. Dimensional Examination.
