This commercial item description covers eyewear retainers intended to be used by all soldiers wearing pr
2、escription or non-prescription eyewear during combat, athletic, and garrison activities. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Description. The eyewear retainer shall consist of a soft, woven, cloth material having tubular ends that slide over the temples of standard eyewear. There shall be no rigid slides
3、 or buckles. Fit and retention shall be accomplished by sliding the ends over the length of the temples. 2.2 Lensth. The length of the eyewear retainer shall be greater than 15 inches but no longer than 19 inches. 2.3 Color. The color of the eyewear retainer shall be olive green or black. Beneficial

The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Certification. The contractor sha
9、ll certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description; conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices; and is the same product offered for sale in the commerci
10、al marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 4.2 Market acceptability criteria. The item offered, or a generic equivalent, must have been sold t
11、o the commercial market or to the Government for at least two years. 4.3 Warranty. The item offered shall include the standard warranty given to the commercial market beginning with the date of delivery of the individual items. 4.4 Visual examination. Each eyewear retainer shall be examined for the
12、defects listed below. 4.4.1 Defects. Any hole, cut, tear, pull, or fray; color not as specified; any part shaded; any spot or stain; ends of stitching not backstitched or overstitched; thread ends not removed; any material defects or poor workmanship; label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurem
13、ent of item not as specified; bar code omitted or not readable by scanner; human-readable interpretation (MI) omitted or illegible; bar code not visible on folded, packaged item; any items not packaged in accordance with the contract or purchase order. 2 Licensed by Information Handling Services,I 9
