2、 EQUIPMENT CONNECTOR The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description as a replacement for MIL-S-2877718 for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. 1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers the requirements for a cable assembly, (type II), electronic t
3、est equipment, (2 poles, 3 wires, grounded, 125 volts, 10 amperes, 50 or 60 Hertz), grounding plug connector, also commonly known as a 125 volt power supply cord? 1.2 Intended use. This cable assembly is to be used with modified Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
4、2.1 Reauirements . The cable assembly shall provide for the transmission of 125 volt, 10 ampere, 50 or 60 hertz ac power and shall be configured in accordance with figure 1. The cable shall meet the requirements of UL 62 for a class 43, AWG 18, SVT cable rated at 90“ (194“F), Unless otherwise specif
5、ied (see 6.1), the cable shall be unshielded. The cable jacket shall be marked in accordance with section 71 of UL 62. The plug connector shall be molded to the jacket in accordance with section 56 of UL 817 and shall conform to NEMA WD-1 and figure 5-15 of NEMA WD-6. The equipment connector shall b
6、e a straight molded connector conforming to Standard Sheet E, Amendment 1, of ANSI/IEC320-2- 2. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.1), the length of the cord shall not be less than 2,360 mm (93 in.) and not greater than 3 ,O00 mm (1 18 in.). REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 3.1 Recycled. reco vered or en vironmentally pre ferable materials, Recycled, recovered or environmentally preferable materiais should be used
9、 to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.2 Environmental protect ion. The cable assembly shall meet all applicable Environmental Protection Agency Code of Regul
10、ation (CFR) in effect on the date of the contract. These regulations apply to the emission of material hazardous to the environment or the operators health and shall be met during manufacturing, service, transportation, storage and operation. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Product certw . The
11、product shall have been certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for compliance with the requirements of UL 817. 4.2 Contractor certificat ion. The contractor shall cert and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial
12、item description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery, and
13、thereafter, as may be otherwise provided under the provisions of the contract. 4.3 Market acceptab ilitv. - The item offered must have been sold to the government or commercial market. 5.
