SCOPE. This commercial item description covers the requirements for a
2、 basic mountaineering kit that supports an Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT) platoon or similarly structured element of forty (40) personnel. The kit will contain items that will assist minimally-trained Soldiers operating in up to Class 4 Terrain in Operational Terrain Level 1 and Operational Ter
3、rain Level 2 absent of significant snow and ice. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The High Angle Mountaineering Kit (HAMK) shall be furnished as one kit. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 6、 3.2 Dimensions. Individual item dimensions will be in accordance with manufacturers current specifications. 3.3 Color. Individual item colors will be in accordance with Table I. 3.4 End item testing. Individual item test standards will be in accordance with their related International Climbing and
7、Mountaineering Federation Standards, where applicable (see 7.1.3). 3.5 Materials. Individual item materials will be in accordance with manufacturers current specifications. 3.6 Workmanship. The HAMK shall conform to the quality of product established by this document. The occurrence of defects shall
8、 not exceed the contractors own quality assurance standards and the quality assurance standards defined in the technical data in the solicitation and/or contract. 3.7 Service life. The HAMK shall have no unexpected material or component failures during a continuous one-year cycle. The HAMK shall hav

13、4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.1 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or en
14、vironmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible, provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Product conformance. The products
15、 provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to requir
16、e proof of such conformance. 5.2 Visual examination. Each kit shall be examined for the following defects as listed in Table II: TABLE II.
