1、 INCH-POUND A-A-59925 6 June 2013 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION BARBED TAPE, HOOK (WIRE REINFORCED LONG BARB) The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description for all Federal Agencies. 1. SCOPE. This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers hook barb tape
2、for barb tape entanglements. These entanglements may serve as a security barrier for confinement applications, nuclear generating plants, petroleum/chemical storage, refineries, sensitive areas at airports and nuclear weapons storage, etc. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1 Material. The hook barbed ta
3、pe shall be made of material as specified below and shall be subject to all provisions of this CID: a. Barbed tape Stainless steel per ASTM A240/A240M, Type 430 or galvanized steel per ASTM A653/A653M. b. Core wire Stainless steel per ASTM A580/A580M, 300 Series, minimum tensile strength 140,000 psi
4、 or galvanized steel per ASTM A764, Finish 2, Class II, Type B minimum tensile strength 220,000 psi. 2.2 Design and construction. Hook barbed tape furnished under this CID shall conform to the dimensions and design characteristics as specified herein, in Figure 1 and in Table I. Single coil wire rei
5、nforced concertinas 19, 25 and 31 inch in diameter are to be fabricated from 0.025 inch thick AISI 430 stainless steel (SS) or ASTM A653/A563M galvanized steel (GA). Each roll shall consist of 31 or 51 coil loops with pair of loops alternately clipped together at 3 or 5 locations around the circumfe
6、rence dependent upon diameter. Concertina clip attachments shall be capable of withstanding a minimum pull load of 200 lbs. Clusters of 8 needle sharp barbs shall be located 4 inch on center along the spiral turns. The main barb length shall be 2.250 to 2.600 inch tip to tip, angled approximately 24
7、 degrees above the centerline of tape. The minor (retainer) barb shall be located 0.70 0.05 inch from the main barb tip and shall be 0.10 inch nominal length. Concertina coils are to be available in combinations of SS or GA tape and core wire. Barbed tape is to be wrapped 230 degrees around 0.098 in
8、ch diameter SS or GA core wire. Tape material (barb) shall be fabricated from SS or GA and is 1.375 inch wide prior to forming. FIGURE 1. BARBED TAPE. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 3.1 The offerer/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Product conform

The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and the quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves th
14、e right to require proof of such conformance. 5. PACKAGING. 5.1 Preservation, packing and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. 6. NOTES. 6.1 Unless otherwise specified, all dimensions are in inches. 6.2 Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, packaging shall
15、be in accordance with ASTM D3951. 6.3 The following part or identification numbering procedure is for government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractors.
