This drawing describes the requirements for a fixed, film, radial leaded, 2.25 watts (20 watts with a heatsink) power device.

Termination material shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1276 and tabl

The use of pure tin, as an underplate or final finish is prohibited both internally and externally. Tin content of resistor components

18、and solder shall not exceed 97 percent, by mass. Tin shall be alloyed with a minimum of 3 percent lead, by mass (see 6.3). * 3.3.3 Resistance range and temperature characteristic. The resistance range and temperature characteristic shall be according to table II (see 6.6). TABLE II. Resistance range

The nominal resistance identified by four digits; the first three digits represent significant figures and the last digit specifies th

20、e number of zeros to follow. When the value of resistance is less than 100 ohms, or when fractional values of an ohm are required, the letter “R” is substituted for the significant digits to represent the decimal point. When the letter “R” is used, succeeding digits of the group represent significan

21、t figures. The resistance value designations are shown in table III. Standard values for every decade follows the sequence demonstrated for 10 decade to 100 decade in table IV. Resistance values not listed in table IV for the appropriate resistance tolerance are considered as not conforming to the s

22、pecification. Although resistance tolerances “J” normally require less than three significant figures to adequately describe the true resistance value, for the purpose of this specification, the nominal value is three significant figures followed by the fourth digit to signify the number of zeros to

Resistors are available in tolerances F (1.0 percent), and J (5.0 percent) (see 6.6). 3.4 Power rating. The power rating shall be 2.25 watts at +25C ambient

25、 temperatures. For operation at temperature in excess of +25C, derate in accordance with figure 2. With a heatsink, the power rating can go up to 20 watts at +25C tab temperature (heatsink not provided in this document). * 3.5 Voltage rating. The maximum continuous working voltage shall not exceed 3

26、00 volts or square root of P*R. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.2, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage; the change in resistance shall not exceed (0.5 percent +0.001 ohm). 3.10 Overload. When res

31、istors are tested as specified in 4.5.3, there shall be no evidence of arcing, burning, or charring; the change in resistance shall not exceed (0.5 percent +0.001 ohm). 3.11 DC resistance. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.4, the dc resistance shall be within the specified tolerance of t

32、he nominal resistance (see 3.3.3.1) for all products deliverable on the contract. 3.12 Solderability. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.5, they shall meet the criteria for wire-lead terminal evaluation in the test method. * 3.13 Resistance temperature characteristic. When resistors are t

33、ested as specified in 4.5.6, the resistance temperature characteristic at each of the temperatures specified in 4.5.6d are referred to 25C 5C and shall be in accordance with table II. * 3.14 Low temperature operation. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.7, there shall be no evidence of mec

34、hanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm). When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.8, there shall be no evidence of breaking or loosening of terminals from the resistor form, or chipping of coating, or other evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.002 ohm). * NOTE: The curve in

36、dicates the percentage of nominal wattage that can be applied above 25C that results in the same resistance film temperature. FIGURE 2. Derating curves for various ambient temperatures. 3.16 Dielectric withstanding voltage. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.9, there shall be no evidence

37、of flashover, mechanical damage, arching, or insulation breakdown. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm). 3.17 Insulation resistance. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.10, the insulation resistance shall be not less than 1,000 megohms. 3.18 Resistance to sol

38、dering heat. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.11, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.002 ohm). 3.19 Moisture resistance. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.12, there shall be no evidence of mechanical da

39、mage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.50 percent +0.001 ohm). In addition, the change in resistance due to dielectric withstanding voltage shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm), and the insulation resistance shall be 100 megohms minimum. 3.20 Shock (specified pulse). When resistors

40、 are tested as specified in 4.5.13, there shall be no evidence of mechanical or electrical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm). There shall be no electrical discontinuity during the test. 3.21 Vibration, high frequency. When resistors are tested as specified i

41、n 4.5.14, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (0.25 percent +0.001 ohm). There shall be no electrical discontinuity during the test. 3.22 Life. When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.15, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. Th

42、e change in resistance between the initial measurement and any of the succeeding measurements, up to and including 1,000 hours, shall not exceed (2.00 percent +0.001 ohm). When resistors are tested as specified in 4.5.16, there shall be no evidence of mechanical damage. The change in resistance shall not exceed (1.0 percent +0.001 ohm). Following this test, the di

44、electric withstanding voltage shall be as specified in 3.16, and the insulation resistance shall be 1,000 megohms minimum. * 3.24 Marking. Resistors shall be marked with the PIN assigned herein (see 1.2) and manufacturers identification code (CAGE or logo), as shown in the following example: CAGE or

45、 Logo. 05016 - Specification number. * - Resistance, Tolerance, and terminal finish. * - Date code. 3.25 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material

46、 meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. * 3.26 Manufacturer eligibility. To be eligible for listing as an approved source of supply, a manufacturer shall perform the group A and group B inspections specified herein on a

47、 sample of parts agreed upon by the manufacturer and DLA Land and Maritime-VAT. * 3.26.1 Certificate of compliance. A certificate of compliance shall be required from manufacturers requesting to be a approved source of supply. 3.27 Workmanship. Resistors shall be uniform in quality and free from def

48、ects that will affect life, serviceability, or appearance. 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Qualification inspection. Qualification inspection is not applicable to this document. 4.2 Conformance inspection. 4.2.1 Inspection of product for delivery. Inspection of product for delivery shall consist of group A and

49、group B inspections. 4.3 Group A inspection. Group A inspection shall consist of the inspections specified in table V, and shall be made on the same set of sample units, in the order shown. * TABLE V. Group A inspection.
