3、ervices Administration has authorized the use of this specification for all Federal agencies. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This Specification covers the requirements for liners to be worn under the CWU-91P jacket and trousers. 1.2 Classification The jacket and trouser liners are furnished in the following si

14、gulations unless a specified exemption has been obtained . 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 6.3) in accordance with 4.2. 3.2 Recycled recovered or environmentally preferable materials Recycled, recovered, or env

15、ironmentally preferable material should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.3 Description. 3.3.1 Jacket liner. The jacket liner shall have a center

16、front opening with slide fastener and four snaps concealed by an outside flap, knit collarette and cuffs, and a patch pocket on the outside left breast measuring 5 inches wide and 5-5/8 inches deep. The hanger loop, 1/2 inch by 3 inches long, shall be caught in the seaming of the collar to the neck

17、and secured with a bartack. 3.3.2 Trouser liner. The trouser liner shall have an elastic waistband, snap fly closure, knit anklets and back hip patch pockets measuring 6-1/4 inches wide and 6 inches deep. The hangers for the trousers shall be centered on the seat seam with a bartack 1/4 inch below t

18、he bottom edge of the waistband. 3.3.3 Seams and stitching All raw edges including the pocket shall be overedge stitched (6- 1 O stitches per inch). Top corners of all pocket openings and the bottom of the fly shall be bartacked. All seams shall be lock or chain stitched (10-14 stitches per inch) wi

19、th the edges overedged together. In addition, the seat seam shall be raise stitched with a double needle machine with the right overlapping the left. The waistband shall be 2 inches wide with four rows evenly spaced stitching. The top edge of the slide fastener tape (without teeth) shall be exposed

The quilted material with a nylon

21、taffeta cover shall conform to Type VIII, cover D, Style a and Class 9 of MIL-B-4 1826. The color shall be USAF Sage Green USAF color shade 1511. 3.4.2 Knit cloth for the Anklets wristlets, and collarette The color of the knit cloth shall be constructed to have not less than 14 wales per inch and no

22、t less than 18 courses per inch. Three courses of single, cotton shall alternate with one course of 2-ply spun nylon yarn. The knit cloth shall be a good match to the basic material. The finished cloth shall show colorfastness to laundering (after 3 test cycles) equal to or better than the standard

23、sample, or a rating of 3-4”or better on the AATCC Gray scale for Color Change when compared to the unlaundered sample when tested in accordance with paragraph 4.5. The anklets and wristlets shall conform to the characteristics outlined in Table I. 3.4.2.1 Anklets and wristlets The cloth shall be mad

24、e on a circular knitting machine with one end of yarn per feed using a 1 by 1 rib stitch, The ends shall have a tuck or expanding stitch (U2 inch minimum when folded and finished). The cloth shall be made on a circular knitting machine or on a flat-bed knitting machine using 1 by 1 rib stitch with one end per feed. Three courses of single, cotton yarn shall alternate with one course of 2 ply spun ny

26、lon yarn. The weight of the cloth shall be not less than 12 ounces per square yard. 3.4.3 Stitching thread. The sewing thread shall be a good match to the basic material and shall conform to A-A-55094, type III, 3 ply, ticket number A, for all seaming and safety stitching. 3.4.4 Slide fastener (iack

27、et liner) The slide fastener for the front opening shall be separating, nonreversible, automatic, size light medium special with a short tab pull and single slider arrangement conforming to Type IV, style 6 of A-A-55634. The components shall be dark oxidized or natural brass. The length for all jack

28、et sizes shall be 20 inches with a minimum tape extension of 1-1/4 inches on the top end. 3.4.5 Snap fasteners. The snap fasteners for the jacket and trouser liner shall conform to style 2A, finish 2, of MIL-F-10884. The color of the exposed surface of the cap shall match the color 4 Provided by IHS

The placement of the snaps shall be as indicated on the pattern. 3.4.5.1 Jacket Liner Front opening. The top snap shall be placed 1/2 inch down from the col

30、lar and the last snap 1 inch above the finished bottom hem with the remaining snaps evenly spaced in between according to the marks on the pattern. 3.4.5.2 Jacket liner and trouser liner. Two female portion snaps shall be located on each inseam to be used to attach the liners together. The first sna

31、p shall be 1-1/2 inches upward from the finished bottom hem. The second shall be 1-1/2 inches upward from the first snap fastener and in vertical alignment. One corresponding male portion of the snap shall be located on each trouser outseam approximately 3 inches e 1/4 inch) from the top edge of the

32、 trouser. 3.4.6 Elastic webbing (trouser liner) The 1-3/4 inch wide elastic webbing shall have a thickness of .O48 inches minimum and a maximum weight of .95 oz. per linear yard when tested in accordance with paragraph 4.4. 3.5 Labels. Each liner shall have a combination identification/size label, a

33、nd a laundering label stitched on all sides approximately 1/2 to 1 inch below the collar seam on the jacket liner and stitched on all sides below the lower row of waistband stitching on the inside back above the right patch hip pocket on the trouser liner. The inscription shall have a minimum font s

34、ize of 10. The inscription legibility, label, and label attachment shall last the expected life of the coveralls. 3.5.1 Identification/size label The identification/size label shall contain the following information: Liner, flyers CW 9/P (jacket or trousers) Contract number Textile Fiber Products Ac

35、t Information Contractors name Size Stock number 3.5.2 Laundering instruction label The laundering instruction label shall contain the following information: 1. Machine washing Use Permanent Press Cycle. Wash in warm water with mild detergent. 2. Hand washing. Wash in warm water using mild detergent

36、. DO NOT WRING OR TWIST. Rinse in clean warm water. 3. DO NOT USE CHLORINE BLEACH OR STARCH. 4. Dry at low heat (do not exceed 130 F). After drying, tumble at room temperature for 10 minutes. Remove immediatelyfrom dryer. To drip dry, remove from water and place on rust-proof hanger. 5 Provided by I

38、cket and trouser. The label shall contain the following information. The garment shall be unpacked and shaken out, at a room temperature of approximately 70 degrees Fahrenheit, before fitting to insure your correct size”. 3.5.4 Barcode tag. Each item shall be individually bar-coded, clearly legible

39、and readable by scanner. The bar-coding element shall be a 13 digit national stock number (NSN). The barcode type shall be medium to high code density, and shall be attached so that it is completely visible on the item when it is folded and lor packaged as specified. The label shall be attached with

40、out using adhesive or without piercing the fabric to prevent damage to the item. 3.5.5 Patterns. The government shall furnish a complete set of patterns or a master pattern with grade rules, to maintain uniformity and consistency in manufacturing. The government patterns shall be used to create the

41、contractors working patterns. Minor modifications are permitted to accommodate manufacturing procedures, however the design and finished measurements shall be maintained. TABLE II.
