5、ctor shall furnish sample unit(s) for the first article inspection and approval (see 4.1.2.1 and 6.2). 3.2 Materials. of the highest quality throughout, and suitable in all respects for the purpose intended. The irrigator supporting rod shall be constructed as shown on DPSC Drawing 20076 and as specified herein. adjustable from approximately 18 inches to 43 inches. The sod shall be 3.4 Finish. 9、formance. The rod shall have a minimum range of adjustment from 18 to 43 inches. With the thumbscrews not engaged, the upper rod and extension tube shall slide smoothly, free of binding, during the entire length of travel. The thumbscrews shall securely lock the telescoping components in any set pos
10、ition. The stops on the telescoping components shall prevent removal from the assembly. 3,7 Workmanship. Workmanship shall be first class throughout. Irrigator supporting rods shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or may impair their serviceability. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROV
11、ISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, .the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. contract, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection

The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed re- quirements. Inspection, as used in this specification, is defined as both examination (such a visuai use of special laborat

18、tor, provided lot identity has been maintained and can be demostrated to the Government. The certificate shall include the name of the contractor, the contract number, the name of the manufacturer or supplier, the NSN, the Item Identification, the name of the component/material, the lot number, the
19、lot size, the sample size, the date of testing, the test method, individual test results, and the specification requirements. 4.2 Sampling. 4.2.1 For examination. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-Sm-105, and table I. The unit of product for sampling purposes shall b

The inspection of the packing and marking for shipment and storage shall be in accordance with the quality assurance provisions of the applicable container specification and the marking requirements of MIL-STD-129. 5. PACKAGING. 5.1 Pr
36、eservation and packaging. Preservation and packing shall be Level A or C as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Unit of issue. One rod as specified, constitutes one unit of issue. 5.1.2 Level A. 5.1.2.1 Cleaning. Rods shall be cleaned in accordance with MIL-P-116, method C-l. 5.1.2.2 Drying. Rods shall be dr
37、ied in accordance with MIL-P-116. 5.1.2.3 Preservative application. Preservatives shall not be applied to bars. 5.1.2.4 Unit packaging. Each rod shall be disassembled and the disassembled components wrapped in kraft paper and packaged in accordance with MIL-P-116, method III in a box conforming to P
38、PP-B-566, E flute corrugated paperboard or PPP-B-636, class domestic. box specification. Closure shall be as specified in the appendix of the 5.1.3 Level C. Each rod shall be packaged in a manner that will afford adequate protection against corrosion, deterioration and physical damage during shipmen
39、t from the supply source to the first receiving activity. 5.2 Packing. Packing shall be Level A, B or C as specified (see 6.2). 5.2.1 Level A. Twenty-four unit packages shall be packed in an exterior container designed for a type 2 load and conforming to PPP-B-636, class weather- resistant. appendix
40、 of the box specification. Closure, strapping and waterproofing shall be as specified in the 5.2.2 Level B. tainer designed for a type 2 load and conforming to PPP-B-636, class domestic.
