9、 as directed by the contracting officer.) 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials. Materials shall be as speci- fied herein. 3.1.1 General. The toilet shall be constructed of aluininum. The seat shall be constructed of tliernioplastic material conforming to Specifica- tion M1L-M-14, type CFG. Hardware shall b
10、e constructed of corrosion resistant metals or suit- ably protected to resist corrosion. 3.1.2 Dissimilar Metals. Unless suitably pro- tected against. electrolytic corrosion, dissimilar metals shall not be used in intiinate contact with each other. Dissimilar metals are defined in Standard MS33586.
11、2 i . 3.2 Design. The toilets shall conform to the design of figures 1,2,3, and 4 8s applicable. Each toilet shall liave a main housing with a vent, iiiner bucket, bucket cover, splash horn, seat and seat cover. The housing shall be adapted for iiiounting ta the floor of the aircraft. The inner buck
12、et shall have the top brim flanged so that it fiB snugly bctwecn the bucket cover, which rests on thc toilet base, inside the main housing, rrnd the splash horn. The bucket shall be provided n-itli handles. The handles must not interfere with placement of the bucket within the toilet housing. The bu
13、cket cover, which will normally he stored on the bottom, inside of the toilet body, shall have a slit in the top to allow the handle when standing ercct, to pass through the slit. A hole one inch in diameter shall also be provided on a circle 4 inches smaller than the outside diameter of the bucket
14、cover. 3.3 Construction. 3.3.1 Dimen-swns. The dimensions shall be as shown on figure 1, 2 and 3 as applicable to sizes required. 3.3.2 Capacities. The normal capacity of the inner bucket when filled to the bottom of the horn shall not be less than the gallon capacity required according to size (see
15、 paragraph 1.2). 3.3.2.1 Maximum. The maximum capacity of the iiiner bucket when filled to the brim shall not be less than thc following: Size-1% gallon - 2% gallons Size3 gallon - 4 gallons Size-6 gallon - 8 gallons 3.3.2.2 Weights. Toilets and parts shall be inarkid for identification in accordance with 3.5 Workmanehip. The toilets shall be

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 The supplier is responsible for the per- forinance of all inspection rcquireiiients as speci- fied herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own or any other inspcc- tiori facil
23、ities and services acceptable to the Gov- criimerit. Inspection records of the examination :incl tests shall bc kept complete and available to tlie Goveriiinciit as specified in the contract or order. The Government reserves tlie right to per- form any of the inspections set forth in the speci- fica
24、tion wherc such inspections are deemed neces- sary to assure supplies and services conform io prescribed requirements. 4.2 Sampling for lot acceptance. 4.2.1 Ali toilets of the same size offered for delivery at one time shall be considered a lot for purposes of inspection, 4.2.2 Sampling Jor examina
25、tion. A random sniuplc of toilets shall be selected from each lot offered to the GoverniDent in accordance with JIIL-STD-IO5 at inspection level II. The Ac- ceptable Quality level shall be 2.5 percent defec- tive. 4.2.3 Sampling for test. A random sample of toilets shall be selectccl from each lot o
26、ffcred to tlie Government in accordqiice with MIL-STD- 105 Inspection Level 1-8. - - -I MIGT-25186A 4.3 Examination. Each of the sample toilets seleclcd in accordance wit.h paragraph 4.2.2 shall be examined to verify compliance with this speci- fication and strict conformance with the perti- iicnt f

Any toilet containing one or more defects shall be rejected and if the number of defective toilcts in any sample exceeds the ac- ceptance nuinlm for the sample, the lots repre- witccl by the saiiiple shall be rejected. 4.4 Test procedures. Each of the sample toilets sc!cctcd in accordance wi
28、th 4.2.3 shall be tested lor lcakage, capacity and strength. Failure of aiiy sample to pass these tests shall be cause for rejecting the lot. Possible test failures are tlcfi11cd 2s follows: ia) Failure of the inner bucket to contain the capacity as specified in paragraph 3.3.2 by first filling it t
29、o the bottom of horn, and then filling it to the brim. (II) Any leakage of the inner bucket when filled to the brim and allowed to stand for oiie hour. (c) Failure of tlie toilet assembly to with- stand load limits of 600 pounds ap- plicd vertically and evenly to the seat cover in a closed position.

The preservation, packaging, packing and mark- ing shall be examined and tested to determine conformance with the requirements of Section 5 of this
31、specification, and as required by specifi- cations referenced therein. Except as required by rcfcrenced specifications inspection lots and sninpliiig shall be in accordance with BIIGSTD- 100 at inspection level L8 and an AQL of 4.0 pci.ceiit defective. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaging. Pack
32、aging shall be level A or C as specified (see 6.2). 5.1.1 Level A. 36、he applicable container specification or appendix thereto. Containers shall be of uniform shape and size, be of mini- mum cube and tare consistent with the protection required and shall contain identical quantities. Containers conforming to Specifications PPP-B- 585, PPP-B-591, or PPP-B-621 shall be
37、 pro- vided with a case liner conforming to Specifica- tion MIL-L-10547 and sealed in accordance with he appendix thereto. The case liner will not be required for PPP-B-636 provided the center and edge seams and the manufacturers joints are sealed with tape Conforming to Specification PPP-T-60, type

Toilets packaged as specified in 5.1.1 shall be packed in doinestic type exterior shipping containers conforining to Specification PPP-B-591, PPP-B-601, PPP-B-621 or PPP- B-636. Containers shall be of uniform shape and size, be of minimum cube an.d tare consistent w
39、ith the protection required and shall contain identical quantities. Containers shall be closed and strapped in accordance with the applicable container specification or appendix thereto, 5.2.3 Level C. Toilets shall be packaged in a way wljich will afford protection against damage during shipment fr
40、om the supply source to the first receiving activity for immediate use.
