Salient Characteristics: Shall be viscose rayon felt ban
2、dage suitable for padding under orthopedic casts. Bandages shall be of the following sizes: SIZE 1 2 3 WIDTH (INCHES) +/- 1/4 INCH 3 4 6 Bandages shall have a minimum average length of 4 yards. Bandages shall consist of the following materials and composition: Shall be fully bleached, clean, dull, c
3、rimped viscose rayon or a mixture of 50 percent fully bleached, clean, dull, crimped, viscose rayon and 50 percent fully bleached, clean, bright, crimped, viscose rayon. Not less than 70 percent, by weight, of fibers shall be 3/4 inch (19 mm) or greater in length; and not more than 5 percent, by wei
4、ght, of the fibers shall be 1/4 inch (6 mm) or less in length. Fibers shall have a denier between 2.7 and 3.3. The rayon fibers shall be mechanically locked and entangled. The roll shall completely submerge in not more than 30 seconds. Water extract (residue weight prior
6、to ignition) shall not exceed 1.0 percent. Residue on ignition shall not exceed 2.0 percent. Acid or Alkali. The material shall have a minimum weight of 60 grams per square yard when determined in accordance with method 5041 of Federal Test Method Standard No. 191. The average of two diameters of an
7、y roll shall be 2-1/8 to 2-3/4 inches. The average diameter of the roll shall be determined without compressing, by taking the visual minimum diameter, and then by taking the diameter at right angles to the minimum diameter. The finished surface of the finished material shall be either smooth or mic
8、ro-pleated. The bandages shall be in one continuous piece and neatly rolled. The finished bandages shall be capable of adhering to themselves and shall conform to the contour of the body or limb to which they are applied. Bandages shall not slip or roll up under plaster casts nor cause constriction
9、nor have tourniquet effect on the body or limb to which they are applied. Bandages shall be free of lumps, tears, holes and cuts. Bandages shall be substantially free of oil spots, streaks, dirt and foreign matter. Bandages shall not fray when applied nor during use. Workmanship. The bandages shall
10、be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability. Unit. Package (PG). For Size 1, and Size 2, one package containing 72 bandages of one size only, as specified, constitutes one unit. For Size 3, one package containing 36 bandages, as specified, constitutes one

19、oducts manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerance specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this do

If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerance specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
