REQUIREMENTS 3.1 liaterials Except where otherwise specified, materials shall conform to the applicable portions of the specifications, standards, and d
13、rawing specified herein, and as described in 3.2 and shall be capable of meeting the requirements specified therein. In addition, the metals shall conform to the chemical requirements of their applicable specifications when tested as specified in section 4, those used shall be of the highest commerc
14、ial quality, and entirely suitable for the purpose intended. When materials to be used are not specifically designated, 3.1.1 Cloth, nylon. The nylon cloth shall be olive green No. 106, water repellent, conforming to MIL-C-43128. 3.1.2 Webbing, nylon. The nylon webbing shall conform to Class 2 of MI
15、L-it-4088 as follows : 314 inch width shall be Type Ia. 1-23/32 inch width shall be Type VIII. 3.1.2.1 Color and finish. The nylon webbing shall be dyed olive drab number 7 to match the standard shade, and shall be resin impregnated conforming to class R of MIL-if-27265. The resin impregnated webbin
16、g shall conform to the applicable requirements of MIL-if-2 7265. 3.1.3 Thread polyester. The thread for all stitching shall conform to type I, class I, sub-cnss 7,; Siz:. F, of V-T-285. The thread shall be dyed olive drab shade S-1, C.I. 66022, except the colorfastness requirements and test methods
17、shall be limited to weathering only. 3.1.4 Fasteners, hook and pile. The hook and pile fasteners shall be Type II, Class 1 of NIL-F-21840. Color shall be green, OG 106; width shall be 518 inch. 3.1.5 Buckle, nonslip. The nonslip buckle shall conform to type V, class 3, size 314 inch of MIL-B-543. 3.
18、1.6 Eyelets and washers. Ex
19、cept as specified herein, the slide fasteners shall conform to V-F-106, type I, style 6, size MHC except that the zipper tape shall be 1 inch wide instead of the 314 inch tape specified. Metal parts shall be brass with a black chemical finish conforming to MIL-F-495. The slider shall be equipped wit
20、h a wire stirrup pull equipped with a thong, The length of the chain shall be as required to effect a smooth and secure closure of the case opening# 3.1.7.1 Tape. The slide fastener tapes shall be vat dyed olive drab shade S, conforming to U.S. Army Color Card of Standard Shades for Slide Fastener T
21、apes, and shall be water repellent and mildew resistant, in accordance with V-F-106. Mildew resistance shall be obtained by using copper-8-quinolinolate only. 3.1.7.1.1 Water repellence. The finished tape shall be tested for water resistance as specified in V-F-106, 3.1.7.2 Salt spray resistance. Th
22、e slide fasteners shall meet the salt spray resistance requirements specified in V-F-106. 3.1.7.3 Idebbing for thongs. Webbing for thongs shall conform to the requirements of V-F-106 for thongs (cotton webbing) except that mildew resistance shall be obtained by using copper-8-quinolinolate only. 3.1
23、.8 Adapter, The 500 pound, quick fit, adapter shall be reversible and in accordance with Drawing. Steel shall be type 4140 of HIL-S-5626, or type 8740 of NIL-S-6049. Finish shall be zinc plate in accordance with Type III, class 2 of QQ-Z-325, followed by bake enameling. . The enamel shall conform to
24、 type I or II of MIL-E-480. The color shall be black. 3.1.9 Stitching sealant. Exterior Stitching shall be sealed by the application of one of the two sealants listed in 6.2, or equal, in accordance with the manufacturers directions. 3.2 Construction. The construction of the case shall conform to th
25、e requirements specified herein and to those shown on Defense Personnel Support Center Drawing 24053. 3.2.1 Stitching, machine. All stitching shall conform to FED-STD-751 as follows: For all stitching except overedge stitching; type 301, 8 to 10 stitches per inch, For ovaredge stitching (single oper
26、ation optional); type 503 or 504, 8 to 10 stitches per inch. There shall be no lub- rication of the thread by any means prior.to or during sewing. operations requiring box, box with cross stitch, W stitching, straight line tacking or any other design of stitching cited in this specif
28、ication may be performed with an automatic stitching machine provided the requirements for stitch pattern, stitches per inch, size, and types, of thread are met; and at least three or more tying, overlapping, or back stitches are used to secure the ends of stitching. 29、ching. Thread breaks in stitching shall be over- stitched not -less than 1 inch at each break. Stitching shall be backstitched not less than 1 inch at the ends, except where ends are turned under in a hem or held down by other stitching. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no lo
30、ose stitching, and the lock will be imbedded in the materials sewed. 3.2.1.2 Overedge stitching. Thread breaks in overedge Stitching shall be overstitched not less than 314 inch at each break. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no loose stitching. 3.2.2 Eyelets and washers. Eye
31、lets shall be securely clinched to the washers, without cutting the material. 3.2.3 Fusing of nylon webbing. All ends of nylon webbing shall be fused after cutting, including bias cuts. 3.3 Harking for identification. Each case shall be legibly and permanently marked with black waterproof ink or pai
32、nt in accordance with the drawing. 3.4 Workmanship. Workmanship shall be first class throughout. Complete cases shall be well made and free from defects which detract from their appearance or may impair their serviceability. 4. QUALITY ASSURNACE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless o
33、therwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the i
34、nspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspect ions are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 5 Provide

36、ests performed by or for the contractor shall be maintained by the Contractor and made available to the Government, upon the Governments request, at any time, or from time to time, during the performance of the contract and for a period of three years after delivery of the supplies to which such rec
37、ords relate. 4.1.2 Inspection. Inspection, as used in this specification, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the
38、 item. 4.1.3 Certificates of quality. Certificates of quality, supplied by the manufacturer of the cloth, fasteners, hardware, tape, and webbing, may be furnished in lieu of actual performance of such testing by the contractor, provided lot identity has been maintained and can be demonstrated to the
39、 Government. The certificate shall include the name of the contractor, the contract number, the name of the manufacturer or supplier, the NSN, the item identification, the name of the component/material, the lot number, the lot size, the sample size, the date of testing, the test method, individual
40、test results, and the specification requirements. 4.2 Quality conformance inspection. The examinations and tests required to assure conformance of those items or lots of items to be offered for acceptance are classified as specified in tables I and I (see 4.2.1 and 4.2.2) and 4.2.3. 4.2.1 Sampling f
41、or examination. 4.2.1.1 Sampling for visual defects. Sampling for visual defects shall be conducted in accordance with TIIL-STD-105. 47、 Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with - specification requirements. 4.3.1 Chemical analysis of metals. The samples selected in accordance with 4.2.3.1 shall be analyzed in conformance with methods 111 or 112 of FED-STD-151. In case of dispute, method 111 shall be used for referee an

An examination shall be made to determine whether the packaging, packing and marking comply with the r
49、equiremets of section 5. Defects shall be scored as specified in table III. Sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. The sample unit shall be one container fully prepared for delivery. The lot shall be the number of containers offered for inspection at one time. The inspection level shall be S-2 with an AQL of 4.0 expressed in terms of defects per hundred units.
