8、mmittee on Non-Sensitive Pushbutton and Keyboard Switches.) 1.0 SECTION ONE - SCOPE AND OBJECT 1.1 Scope This Sectional Specification covers a limited range of touch stroke tactile feel switch panels, the bases for which are etched type printed circuit boards. These switch panels are intended for us

9、e in low input rate data entry applications. Both product qualification and capability approval requirements are included in this document. 1.2 Object The objects of this Specification are to prescribe: 1.2.1 Preferred ratings and characteristics, 1.2.2 Appropriate test procedures, 1.2.3 General per

10、formance requirements, 1.2.4 A fixed sample size product qualification test schedule, 1.2.5 Capability approval requirements and test schedules, and 1.2.6 Quality conformance test schedules. 2.0 SECTION TWO - GENERAL 2.1 Related documents The following documents of the issue in effect form a part of

11、 this Specification to the extent specified herein: ANSI/EIA-4980000 Generic Specification for Keyboard Switches of Certified Quality. 12、ll be in accordance with EIA-4980000. Terminology peculiar to the products covered by this Specification are defined as follows. Terminology peculiar to Detail Specifications shall be defined in those documents. 2.3.1 Operating Temperature Range The range of temperature within which the keyboard can

13、 be safely operated. . 2.3.2 Overlay A thin plastic sheet, either flat-or embossed, adhesive bonded to the top surface of a printed circuit board. It serves to enclose or seal the switch contact surfaces and to bear whatever legending is required on the panel. 2.3.3 Graphics See Legend. 2.3.4 Legend

14、 All of the marking on the switch panel ranging from the identification of each switch position to, and including, all of the nomenclature and decorative effects on the front panel of a piece of electronic equipment. 2.3.5 Key Force The force which must be applied to the key to cause the moving cont

15、act to change its state (i.e., from open to closed or vice versa). 2.3.6 Key Travel The distance through which the key travels from its normal position to its full travel (bottoming) position. 16、possible, the values, ratings and characteristics shall be selected from the following: 2.4.1 Preferred Ratings The electrical ratings shall be specified in Details Specifications. 2.4.1.1 Applied voltage:. preferred values are 5 Vdc, 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc. 2.4.2 Preferred Characteristics 2.4.2.1 The follo

17、wing environmental characteristics are preferred for keyboards intended for normal indoor use: a) Operating temperature range OOC! to 55OC b) Storage temperature range -4OOC to 7OoC c) Humidity d) Vibration 5% to 95% RH noncondensing 10 to 55 Hz, .O05 D.A. 2.5 Marking Marking additional to the follo

18、wing may be applied to the keyboard provided it does not interface with, obscure, or confuse the required marking. Required marking shall be as follows: 2.5.1 Identification marking The keyboard shall be legibly marked with the following information: 2.5.1.1 Manufacturers name, 2.5.1.2 Identifying n

19、umber (IECQ, EIA, or users part number), EIA 498B000 88 m 3234b00 007l1810 5 EIA-498B000 Page 4 2.5.1.3 Manufacturers part number, and 2.5.1.4 Date code in accordance with EIA-476. . 2.5.2 Terminal Marking When specified by the Detail Specification or the procurement documentation, the terminals sha

20、ll be legibly marked with the specified identification. 2.5.3 Overlay Legending The overlay shall be permanently and legibly legended as specified in the Detail Specification or the procurement documentation. . 2,6 Detail Specification 2.6.1 2.6.2 2.6.3 2.6.4 General Environment characteristics: ope

21、rational and non-operational environmental characteristics shall be specified in Detail Specifications. Detail Specifications shall be derived from the instructions given in EIA-498BA00 and shall contain all required information directly or by reference. Detail Specifications shall not specify requi

22、rements inferior to those of the Generic or Sectional specif,ications. When more severe requirements are included they shall be listed in the Detail Specification and indicated in the test schedule by, for instance, an asterisk. Environmental Characteristics Operational and non-operational environme

23、ntal characteristics shall be specified in Detail Specifications. Electrical Characteristics The electrical characteristics shall be specified in Detail Specifications. Among the items to be considered, as appropriate are: 2.6.4.1 Power input (voltage and current) 2.6.4.2 Logic convention (define vo

25、hall be specified in Detail Specifications, including: 2.6.5.1 Key force: The preferred range is 2.45 to 5.88 N (250 to 600 grams or 0.55 to 1.32 pounds). 2.6.5.2 Key travel: The preferred range is 0.28 to 0.51 mm (0.011 to 0.020 inch). 2.6.5.3 Physical dimensions 2.6.5.4 Terminations 2.6.5.5 Key ar

26、rangement 2.6.5.6 Threads 2.6.5.7 Enclosure 2.6.5.8 Sealing 2.6.6 Functional Characteristics The functional characteristics shall be specified in Detail Specifications. 2.6.7 Inspection The Detail Specification shall contain the complete technical requirements for inspection including the quality co

27、nformance test schedule. If the technical requirements for the Generic and/or Sectional Specification relative to inspection are not entirely suitable (either for technical reasons or for special applications) to the keyboard described in the Detail Specification, the Detail Specification shall clea

28、rly cite the various amendments which are to be made to these requirements. 30、or processes, procedures, practices and methods that have been decreed by authority or adopted by consensus. Standards may also be established for selection, application and design criteria for material. Standards and other documents not in the specification format use only the EIA basic numbering s

31、ystem as follows: EIA- 12 3 Original Standard EIA-123-1 Addendum to the Original Standard EIA-123-A First Revision of original Standard incorporating all Addenda SPECIFICATION A document prepared specifically to facilitate procurement which clearly and accurately describes the essential technical re

32、quirements for purchased material. Procedures necessary to determine that the requirements for the purchased material covered by the specification have been met shall also be referenced or included.
