11、and previously published in EIA-364-15A.) 1 Introduction 1.1 Scope This standard establishes a test method to determine the pin contact strength for contact sizes 20 and smaller when subjected to a defined bending stress (or moment). 2 Test resources 2.1 Test equipment Test equipment shall consist o
12、f a displacement meter and a suitable means of positively securing the pin contact. 2.1.1 Displacement meter A displacement meter (i.e. dial indicator) having an accuracy of 5% shall be used to measure permanent set. 2.1.2 Mounting fixture A fixture that positively secures the pin contact, in the ar
13、ea indicated in figure 1, shall be used. 3 Test specimen 3.1 Description A test specimen shall consist of a pin contact, unless than otherwise specified in the referencing document. 3.2 Preparation The test specimen shall be secured in a suitable mounting fixture as indicated in figure 1, unless oth
14、erwise specified in the referencing document. EIA-364-15B Page 2 4 Test procedure 4.1 Test load The test load shall be applied as indicated in figure 1, with the rate of travel of the loading mechanism not exceeding 25.4 millimeters / minute (1.0 inch / minute). The load shall be maintained for 60 s
15、econds +15 seconds, -0 seconds. 4.2 Permanent set The permanent set shall be the difference between the initial position of the contact before the load is applied, and the final position of the contact after prescribed load has been removed. The degree of permanent set shall not exceed 0.13 millimet
16、ers (0.005 inch) at the 0.8 L load point unless otherwise specified in the referencing document. 5 Details to be specified The following details shall be specified in the referencing document: 5.1 Number of specimens to be tested 5.2 Test specimen description 5.3 Special preparations or conditioning
