In the opinion of the UK committee, certain safety requirement
6、s in this standard do not ensure the precautions necessary for state of the art machines currently in use in the UK. As a result, the UK committee believes that the standard fails to satisfy relevant essential requirements of the EC Machinery Safety Directive (98/37/EC), as implemented in the UK by
7、the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 1992 (as amended), which it claims to meet.The UK committee draws attention to users of BS EN 12044:2005 of their concern that the standard contains inadequate requirements for the protection of personnel against access to the danger zone at manual swing
8、arm cutting presses. The concerns relate specifically to the use of a singlehand control device is concerned for strokes up to a maximum of 8 mm (clause 5.3.1.2). A single-hand control device does not adequately protect the operators free hand.This publication does not purport to include all the nec

The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A

This European Standard applies to the following cutting and punching machines: swing arm c
34、utting presses with manual or powered swing arm; manual and automatic travelling head cutting presses with powered travelling head; manual and automatic beam cutting presses; punching and perforating presses; C-frame cutting presses. 1.3 This European Standard is not applicable to: mechanical presse
