This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical te

30、ents and describes test methods for check and non-return valves for CO 2 , inert gas or halocarbon gas fire extinguishing systems. Non-return and check valves allow the passage in the direction of flow and they prevent flow in the reverse direction. This European Standard is applicable to check valv

31、es installed between container valve and manifold and non-return valves installed in pilot lines, except those valves which are tested in combination with non-electrical control devices. 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference, provisions from other p

35、finitions of EN 12094-8 and the following terms and definitions apply: 3.1 check valve component intended for installation between container valve and manifold, which permits flow only in one direction 3.2 CO 2 -high-pressure installation fire extinguishing installation in which the CO 2is stored at

36、 ambient temperature, e.g. the pressure of the CO 2in storage is p abs= 58,6 bar at 21 o C 3.3 CO 2 -low-pressure installation fire extinguishing installation in which the CO 2is stored at low temperature, normally at a temperature of - 19 o C to - 21 o C 3.4 fill ratio mass of extinguishing medium

41、r under flowing conditions 3.14 working pressure pressure at which the component is used in the system 4 Requirements 4.1 General design The metal parts of check valves and non-return valves shall be made of corrosion resistant materials, e.g. stainless steel, copper, copper alloy or corrosion-prote

42、cted steel (e.g. galvanized steel, cadmium-plated steel, etc.). All materials shall be resistant to media with which they come into contact. Non-return and check valves shall be designed so that the function cannot be adversely affected by ageing or environmental influences. Non-metallic materials a

43、nd elastomers shall be stable and shall not alter their performance over the working life time recommended by the manufacturer. Non-return and check valves shall be specified by the manufacturer for working pressure according to Table 1.Page 6 EN 12094-13:2001 Table 1 - Working pressure Type Working

46、ure Non-return and check valves shall not show any sign of deterioration which could impair proper function, when pressurized up to 1,5 times the working pressure listed in Table 1 and tested in accordance with 5.4. 4.4 Strength Non-return and check valves shall not show any sign of deterioration wh

47、ich could impair proper function, when pressurized up to three times the working pressure listed in Table 1 and tested in accordance with 5.5. 4.5 Flow way The free cross-sectional area of the minimum flow way of check valves and non-return valves shall be within 10% of the value specified by the ma

48、nufacturer, when verified by the measurement check described in 5.3. NOTE See also annex A. 4.6 Leakage Non-return and check valves shall be sufficiently tight for the purpose they are constructed for, when tested in accordance with 5.6. 4.7 Impact Check valves shall not be damaged, when tested in a

49、ccordance with 5.7. 4.8 Function and ambient temperatures Check valves shall have reached their fully open position at a differential pressure of 3 bar maximum. Non-return valves shall have reached their fully open position at a differential pressure of not greater than 10 % of the minimum system pressure in the pilot system. Non-return and check valves shall operate in an ambient temperature range encompassing -20 C to +50 C, when tested in accordance with 5.8 and 5.
