21、domearerecorded. 4 Apparatusandmaterials Adiaphragmmachine 1) with: 4.1 Arigidchamberfilledwithfluidandhavingacircularapertureofdiameterequalto,orupto 0,5mmgreaterthanthediameterofthecircularfreearea. 4.1.1 Acircularelasticdiaphragmmountedovertheapertureinthechamber.Thediaphragmand itssealwiththecha
22、mbershallbeabletowithstandpressuresgreaterthantheburststrengthofthe materialbeingassessed.Themodulusofelasticityofthediaphragmshallbeaslowaspossible,a valueof5%ofthemodulusofthetestspecimenisrecommended. 4.1.2 Ameansofclampingthetestspecimenarounditsedge,abovethediaphragmandoverthe apertureinthecham
23、ber,leavingacentralcircularfreeareaofdiameter(1131)mmorpreferably (35,70,5)mm. Thedesignoftheclampingsystemshallensurethatthetestspecimendoesnotslipduringthetest andshallneitherstretchnorcompressthecentralareaofthespecimenasitisclamped. Thefollowinghasbeenfoundtobesuitable;sixconcentricgrooves2,5mma
24、partand1,25mmdeep, cutintothelowerclampingsurfacesothattheridgesbetweenthegroveshave0,5mmradiustops. 1) Oftencalled“Mullentypemachine“.EN123322:2002(E) 5 Theupperringisdividedinto16identicalsegmentseachofwhichisclampedagainstthebodywitha 25mmdiameterscrew.Thesearetightenedwithatorquewrenchtopressthe
25、upperringsegments againstthelowerring,andtoclampthesample.Thecompleteupperringhasaninternaldiameterof 113mmor37,5mm.Theuppersegmentshavegrovesthatinterlockwiththelowerringridges. 27、sapressknife,forcuttingtestspecimensofasuitablesizeforthe clampingsystem. 5 Testspecimens 5.1 Atanylocationinthelengthoftheroll,andintheusablewidth(definedinENISO22861), select: Option1:Fiveindividualtestspecimensofasufficientsizetobeclampedfirmlyinthetest machine. Option2:Asingletestspecimenwhichis
28、wideandlongenoughforatleastfiveareastobe clampedandtestedinturn. 5.2 Inthecaseofuncutsheetmaterial,thetestpositionsshallbefromarangeoflocationsacross thefullusablewidthandlengthofthematerialavoidingareasthatarewithin50 mmofany manufacturededge. 6Conditioning 6.1 Conditionthetestspecimensinoneoftheat
29、mospheresdefinedinENISO2231foratleast 16hoursbeforetestingandtestthespecimensinthisatmosphere. 6.2 Iftestsaretobemadeonwettestpieces,donotconditionthembuttotallyimmersethemeither for1h5min,6h15min,or24h15mininanaqueoussolutionofnonionicwettingagentof concentrationnotmorethanavolumefractionof0,1%,wit
30、havolumeratioofapproximately20:1,at temperatureequilibriumwithastandardatmosphereofENISO2231. Rinsebyimmersionintheionisedordistilledwateratthesametemperatureusingaliquorratioof minimum20:1. Removethespecimenandkeepwetuntilreadytotest,thenblotandtestimmediately.EN123322:2002(E) 6 7Procedure 7.1 Ensu
31、rethatthetestmachineisreset,withthediaphragmflatandthemaximumpressure indicatorsettozero. 7.2 Tightlyclamponeofthetestspecimensintothemachine;forstrongmaterialsaveryhigh clampingforceisnecessarywhereaswithweak,thinmaterialscareisrequiredtoavoidcuttinginto thespecimen.Delicatematerialsshallbetestedwi
32、thcottoncanvasringsplacedagainsttheclamping surfacesofthesteelrings.Adiaphragmcorrectionismadeforwhatevermaterialsareusedforthe diaphragm,orareusedtosupportit.Setthedistensionmeasuringdevicetozero. NOTE Forfabricscoatedonbothfaces,anagreementonthefacetobetestedshouldbeachieved; otherwise,itisrecomme
33、ndedtotestbothfacesandindicatethisdeviationinthetestreport.Iftheuncoatedface istheexternalfaceinuse,thetestingauthorityshouldbeespeciallyaskedtotestthematerialwiththeuncoated surfaceoutsideandthisdeviationnotedinthereport. 7.3 Observetheuppersurfaceofthetestspecimenandgraduallyforcefluidintothechamb
34、erata constantrateuntileitherthetestspecimenfailsorthespecifiedmaximumburstpressureisreached. 7.4 Ifpossibleuseafluidflowratewhichreachesthedesiredendpointofthetestinatimeof 30s10s. 7.5 Examinethetestspecimenandrecordthedirectionofthefailure.Ifthefailureoccurrednearto orattheclampededgeofthetestspec
35、imenorthetestspecimenslippedintheclampthendiscard theresultsandrepeatthetestwithanothertestspecimenoratanothertestposition. 7.6 Recordthemaximumpressureofthefluidtothenearest1%ofthemaximumpressurerange andthedistensionofthetestspecimentothenearest0,5mm. 7.7 Releasefluidfromthechamberuntilthediaphrag
36、misflatandremovethetestspecimen. 7.8 Repeattheprocedurein7.1to7.7fortheotherfourtestspecimensortestpositions. 7.9 Calculatethearithmeticmeanofthefivemaximumdistensionstothenearest0,5mm. 7.10 Fullytightentheclampwithoutatestspecimenbutwithanyadditionalsupportingmaterialthat wasusedwiththetestspecimen
