20、waterandcold,butitshouldalsoprovidesomeprotectionfrominjury intheeventofanaccident.Itisintendednottohinderariderfromcontrollinghismachine.Itshouldbeofan acceptableappearancetothewearer. ThisEuropeanStandardisprimarilyconcernedwiththeprotectionprovidedbyclothingagainstinjuryinaccidents. Thehazardstow
21、hichmotorcyclistsareexposedvarywidelydependingonthephysicalenvironmentsuchasthe natureoftheroadtrackormountainside,theclimaticenvironment,thetrafficenvironment,thespeedatwhichthe motorcycleisbeingriddenandtheskilloftherider.Thenumberofcombinationsofpossiblehazardsisverylarge. Totalclothingperformanc
22、eagainsteveryidentifiedhazardcouldberequiredforeachcombination.Thiswouldbe impracticablycomplicated.Thereforethisstandardcontainstherequirementsforsinglecharacteristicsofsingle itemsofclothingorsimplecombinationsofgarments. Thisstandardispartofaseriesofstandardsspecifyingrequirementsforparticularite

29、aphragmareclampedaroundtheiredgesoverthetopofa chamber.Thespecimenisgraduallystretchedintoadomeshapebyforcingfluidintothechamberataconstant rate.Thepressureofthefluidatfailureofthespecimenandthedistension,measuredintermsoftheheightofthe dome,arerecorded. 4.2 Apparatusandmaterials 4.2.1 Adiaphragmbur
30、stingtestapparatus,similartoENISO139381andENISO139382(exceptionclamping device);itconsistsof: 4.2.1.1 Arigidchamberfilledwithfluidandhavingacircularapertureofdiameterequalto,orupto0,5mm greaterthanthediameterofthecircularfreearea(4.2.1.3). 4.2.1.2 Acircularelasticdiaphragmmountedovertheapertureinthe
31、chamber.Thediaphragmanditsseal withthechambershallbeabletowithstandpressuresgreaterthantheburststrengthofthematerialbeing assessed.Themodulusofelasticityofthediaphragmshallbeclearlysmallerthanthatofthetestspecimen. NOTE Avalueof5%ofthemodulusofthetestspecimenisrecommended. 4.2.1.3 Ameansofclampingth
32、etestspecimenarounditsedge,abovethediaphragmandovertheaperturein thechamber(4.2.1.1),leavingacentralcircularfreeareaofdiameter113mm1mm. Thedesignoftheclampingsystemshallensurethatthetestspecimendoesnotslipduringthetestandshall neitherstretchnorcompressthecentralareaofthespecimenasitisclamped. NOTE T
33、hefollowinghasbeenfoundtobesuitable:sixconcentricgrooves2,5mmapartand1,25mmdeepcutintothe lowerclampingsurfacesothattheridgesbetweenthegrooveshave0,5mmradiustops.Theupperringisdividedinto 16identicalsegmentseachofwhichisclampedagainstthebodywitha25mmdiameterscrew.Thesearetightenedwitha torquewrencht
34、opresstheupperringsegmentsagainstthelowerring,andtoclampthesample.Thecompleteupperringhas aninternaldiameterof113mm.Theuppersegmentshavegroovesthatinterlockwiththelowerringridges. 4.2.1.4 Ameansofpumpingadditionalfluidintothechamber(4.2.1.1)ataconstantratetoproducea pressureofupto2000kPa. 4.2.1.5 Am

36、(4.2.1.3).EN135953:2002(E) 6 4.3 Testspecimens 4.3.1 Forsheetmaterials,orforeachtypeofseamandslidefastenerpresentinagarment,atleastthree specimensshallbetested.Allcombinationsofmaterialsbeamedinthegarmentshallbetested,andthetest procedureshallaccuratelyreplicatetheuseofthesheetmaterial(s)infinishedg
37、arments.Wherepresent,exposed row(s)oftopstitchingthreadshallbecutinsamplestakenfromzones1and2,seeEN135951:2002,annexC. Usethedevice(4.2.2)tocut: Option1:Fiveindividualtestspecimensofasufficientsizetobeclampedfirmlyinthetestmachine(4.2.1). Option2:Asingletestspecimenwhichiswideandlongenoughforatleast
38、fiveareastobeclampedand testedinturn. 4.3.2 Inthecaseofuncutsheetmaterial,thetestpositionsshallbefromarangeoflocationsacrossthefull usablewidthandlengthofthematerialavoidingareasthatarewithin50mmofanymanufacturededges. NOTE Foramaterialwithawovenstructurethisshouldpreventanytwospecimenscontainingthe
39、samewarporweft threads.Storethetestspecimensinastandardcontrolledenvironmentof23C2Cand50%5%relativehumidityforat least24hbeforetestingandeithercarryoutthetestinthisatmosphereorimmediatelyafterithasbeenremoved. 4.4Procedure 4.4.1 Ensurethatthetestmachineisreset,withthediaphragm(4.2.1.2)flatandthemaxi
40、mumpressureindicator settozero. 4.4.2 Tightlyclamponeofthetestspecimensintothemachine(4.2.1);forstrongmaterialsaveryhighclamping forceisnecessarywhereaswithweakthinmaterialscareisrequiredtoavoidcuttingintothespecimen.Delicate materialsshallbetestedwithcottoncanvasringsplacedagainsttheclampingsurface
41、softhesteelrings.Aknitted fabricshallbeplacedovertheelasticdiaphragmtosupportitwhentestingsomemeshfabricsandpunched leather.Adiaphragmcorrectionismadeforwhatevermaterialsareusedforthediaphragm,orareusedtosupport it(see4.4.5).Setthedistensionmeasuringdevice(4.2.1.6)tozero. Observetheuppersurfaceofthe
42、testspecimenandgraduallyforcefluidintothechamber(4.2.1.1)ataconstant rateuntileitherthetestspecimenfailsorthespecifiedmaximumburstpressureisreached.Ifthespecimendoes notfail,thevaluegiveninthisstandardshallbeexceededbyatleast50%.Theburstingpressureor50%over pressureisrecorded. Ifpossibleuseafluidflo
43、wratewhichreachesthedesiredendpointofthetestinatimeof30s10s. Examinethetestspecimenandrecordthedirectionofthefailure.Ifthefailureoccurredneartoorattheclamped edgeofthetestspecimenorthetestspecimenslippedintheclampthendiscardtheresultsandrepeatthetest withanothertestspecimenoratanothertestposition. Recordthemaximumpressureofthefluidtothenearest25kPaandthedistensionofthetestspecimentothe nearest1mmandwhetherthe
